ModuleManager config checker.

After wasting an afternoon trying to figure out why a certain set of ModuleManager configs were not working, I decided it would be a good idea (and NathanKell encouraged me) to create a tool to make checking relatively painless. It is a small set of python scripts that read and validate ModuleManager configuration files.

Download: github.

License: Gnu General Public License.

Here is s small example with contrived problems:

[bill@taniwha ~/src/cfgnode]
$ python mmcheck.py TV.cfg
TV.cfg:443: warning: unbalanced [] brackets: @MODULEModuleEngines*]
TV.cfg:453: warning: name specifier in node with no MM command: PART[DA?Tiny?Jet]:Final

Current features:

  • Generic ConfigNode syntax check.This happens to catch problems with spaces in names, but it's main purpose is to find unbalanced braces ({}).
  • Square bracket balance check.
  • Finds missing ModuleManager commands (@%-!+$) on nodes with name specifiers.

I hope others find this to be useful.
