Ever since the new gizmos in 0.90 I've wanted to give this a try. I finally got around to it yesterday and was fully amused when I got it to work. Then I did a google search and found that sal_vager had already done this in the spacecraft exchange subforum. And that one is way more extreme!

Anyway, I think a lot of people won't get to see this cool idea down in that sub-forum and it's visually interesting enough to be posted here. (The mods may disagree. )

Yep, I've been thinking about doing this to a Munar lander of mine... I doubt it'll work, but oh well. It is very cool.

Why wouldn't it work? All it took for me was to play with the offset gizmo while the angle snap was turned off. sal_vager got his amazing results by using combinations of the offset and rotation gizmos.

I have to wonder how that thing would fly in FAR. Somehow I suspect that the answer would be "not at all".

na "Not for Long" would be more accurate. if it leaves the ground at all its technicly flying and any brick can do that with a big enough kick. Far will probably rip it apart given a big enough kick to go any distince but who cares it would be fun to watch.
