Crashes on push of launch button in editor, acess violation

Hello there, I'm having a problem with KSP, where I cannot launch a craft. I can go to the editor, and do everything there, but cannot launch crafts from the vab or the launchpad. I get a crash to desktop instead.

Also, while my gamedata is about 1.5 gb, it jumps up to 3.3 while loading and crashes quickly while playing.

Another question, How would one increase performance while in opengl mode? I get terrible fps with it.
