Was hoping that the first video would be a floodgate to more coming available... or even better...

Hey, it is "modding Monday", and this is a pretty big modification to the game... I hope it's much much much much sooner rather than later. Would love to help test the crap out of it.

Will 64 bit allow for larger, higher part count ships?
Holyvision replied to montyben101's topic in KSP1 Discussion
It will be exciting to see what the modding community can do with the 64-bit support, but you probably won't see a massive performance difference from what you have now unless you run with a lot of mods; even then, probably not more than a few frames-per-second (which i'll take!). -
What the heck is a "mod"?

"That is more than six words." "I need a meme of Jeb!" "Also see reference article: 'Good Game'"

"You mean I could've used MechJeb!?" "No thanks, I'm allergic to asparagus." "Where are all of the women?"

Necromancy is taking place here.... the horror! If anything, this could (in the long, long run) turn into an expansion pack addition to a "completed" KSP game. We know that expansions are possible, as over a year ago they made it clear that those who purchased KSP before a certain date (don't remember what it was) would get KSP and all the follow-up expansion packs as they were made available; those who purchased the game after that set date would have to pay for the expansion when they came out -- if there ever were any. Maybe I can find that old post... ::EDIT:: Here it is in the FAQ now... duh on me. Copy and paste quote from FAQ: "I saw the post stating that players who purchased the game before May 2013 will get expansions for Free. Does this apply to Steam purchases as well?" "Yes, any purchase made before May 1st 2013 counts, regardless of the payment or distribution method." The thought of what they could do for expansion packs for this game is mind boggling... especially coupled with the modding community. --Holy

I've found that sitting tight never has enough Delta-V to get me anywhere at all (Bob did move about an inch once but he had tacos the night before) -- but I suppose I will try it... for v.24. -
A short open letter to the MOD community of KSP
Holyvision replied to smart013's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Indeed KSP is blessed with one of the best modding communities in gaming. It is a truly rare time if I ever have less than 40 folders within my GameData folder... >=) Thx to all the modders out there -- I'm very excited to see all the mods we have grow and evolve with the game we all love; from .24 and beyond! -
You know you're a noob in KSP when...

You know you're a noob when: "Meh, I don't need any RCS -- more rockets is enough." -

Has someone reconstructed the Death Star in KSP yet? -

I've yet to have a large ship crash my computer rig, but I also invested in my hobby. 64-bit KSP is on the way to allow more RAM usage. I get a little lag when I run the game (with larger ships) on my lenovo laptop, but get no issues at all on my gaming PC. I would assume this is because of the slower processor and hard drive write speeds. I found that playing KSP off of an available SSD gives it a good boost over a HDD. Ringworld would be an interesting KSP challenge though... would take FOREVER. -
I Kethane at 'yo Momma's house. Also, Minmus.

Perhaps they found a version to "hold" on to finalize and prep for release, and have continued moving forward with fixes in the experimental version? Perhaps it's the last working version? Perhaps they have version-gnomes that are stealing their updates? Regardless, it all leaves us with the same question: IS IT READY YET!?

BTSM style science collection in 0.24
Holyvision replied to kalineh's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
In my personal games, I found that the skilled use of control-surfaces (wiglets) to keep the craft at a zero-degree to 90-degree-gravity-assisted climb would allow a ship to reach an altitude of just over 70km with just enough electrical charge to get a single gravity-detector-scan transmitted for a single bio type. Rinse and repeat about three or four times (for three or four bio areas) and I had more than enough science to unlock more science toys, decouplers, and liquid fueled rockets. One of my favorite things about BTSM is that it teaches you (without using currency/item expense/etc) to be as frugal as possible, and really make sure you only take what you need; with little to no excess. Taking that one or two extra batteries off the craft may get you that extra ~1.5km needed to get past 70km for scans. Never had to use SRB overheat-decoupling once, so far!
