  1. It would be nice, but couldn't they just bring a small compartment for games instead of waste time docking an entire module to a manned craft?
  2. It's too expensive to put radioactive waste into a graveyard orbit practically, much less in a solar orbit.....especially with all the budget cuts NASA's been getting lately. And there will be hell to pay without precautions if the rocket exploded in the atmosphere.
  3. Oh, I had the Blue Hole Of Death appear. I was parachuting down to the ocean, and there it was. I landed safely, though.
  4. It is. Scott Manely got to Minimus with it in career and unlocked the whole frigging tech tree, in one mission!
  5. Maybe the patched conics system isn't so accurate? The map isn't completely reliable, by the way. I learned this the hard way with munar free-return missions
  6. with credit to umlux, ill remake this challenge. Make the most spectacular explosion without killing any kerbals on board. no unmanned crafts, and mods. Those are the rules
  7. But how? I cant change my picture avatar, all that stuff. There's no buttons for it.
  8. I can offer a reality defying solution(if your willing to take it) quicksave with f5. If you fail, press f9 to reload the last save. Hopefully your paranoias will be put to rest.
  9. I'm the worst person you could go to for docking, so I'm naturally confused at this. How do I intercept asteroids?
  10. Tell me about your best moment in KSP, whether that be planting a flag on Eeloo, finishing a 100 Kerbal Space Station, or simply getting into orbit.
  11. So you managed to do something like aerobraking around the Mun? Amazing!
  12. I was testing out some nuclear technology (because i have no idea how it works) and built a simple nuclear plane, with Lazors too. The takeoff was tight, because the plane kept on rolling sideways, but it got off the ground without any damage. After awhile of flying over the ocean, between breaking the Lazor system and locking guided flight while on, i got locked out of my navball. I tried everything, but nothing worked. I decided to try IVA, but instead pressed EVA, and Jeb stepped outside. The poor guy didnt even get a chance to grab the rails before he flew into the radiators and got stuck there like superglue. He was last spotted over the North Pole. (Sorry for the lack of pictures.)
  13. I will push it back to Jool so it will turn into a star with the added mass.
  14. Difficulty: Hard to the 10th level. Requirement: Hyper edit, FASA asteroids mod, Beastly Science, orbital mechanics 101, interplanetary travel, Landing on Bumpy things and Kerbal Alarm clock. Mechjeb and safe file editing optional. Time: 20+ Hours (Not tested) BACKGROUND: The year is 2020. After exploring, mapping, and colonizing every moon, the kerbal Space Program had nothing left to do. Well until one day a particular Kerbal was stargazing after a heated conversation on when ether Miniumus was made of sorbet or not, he spotted a distant rock. Gene Kerman got a whiff of it, and realizing he was back in business, sent an massive space probe into an orbit around Kerbol on a orbit matching Eve. What the ship saw was the mother of all asteroids on a collision course towards Kerbin. Realizing he was back in business, Gene Kerman immediately started a program that will deflected it as soon as possible. PRERPATIONS: Use hyper edit or safe file editing to send a 200m asteroid on a collision course towards Kerbin at an altitude higher than Eeloo. NOTE: All probes must be unmanned and self sustaining. Try doing this by your self as much as possible but you may use mechjeb to help but no autopilot, only guidance. Must have a comm device on there also. MUST SCREENSHOT TO VALIDATE YOUR CLAIMS! TIP: Try finishing this as soon as possible, lest you worry the public. Try making the cheapest, most efficient design possible. KSP suffered some budget cuts earlier on. Kerbinal 1: Send a satellite on an orbit around Kerbol at a similar orbit to Eve's orbit around the sun. This should be the optimal orbit for taking pictures of asteroids. OPTIONAL: If you can, make the asteroid course's pass by the Kerbinal within 1 km as it heads toward Kerbin. Screenshot it if you complete this. Savior 1: Send a probe to rendezvous with the asteroid and take a picture of it. Post your photos below. Savior 2: Send a impact probe to collide with the asteroid. Fill it with scientific instruments. Savior 3: Send a probe to land on it and take surface samples with the scoop o matic. Savior 4: Send a probe to be permanently stationed there.( In case any spacecraft gets in the way, or it decides it like your massive colony on Eve better.) Challenge: Recover all probes by the end of the challenge. NOTE: All of your Iron Curtains (except 4) should be equidistant when finished. Iron Curtain 1: As a back up send a ship designed to deflect in an orbit around Kerbin close to Miniumus. ( In case it passes Miniumus.) Iron Curtain 2: Same specification as iron curtain 1, Except in a different place. Iron Curtain 3: Same specification as iron curtain 2. Except in a different place. Iron Curtain 4: Make it in Geostationary orbit, with a dish comm device. Challenge: Make All Iron curtains point to at least another one at any given time. Kerbin's Fist: Launch a rocket that will push that mother of an asteroid back to where it came from. And try not to hit any planets or spacecraft along the way. If you do, at least hit Jool ! You can't even land on there, anyway. Bonus: Deflect it before it reaches an altitude below Dres. Afterword: KSP was in the public spotlight for a short time after this intense event. But the most important thing happened a year after this> The Kerbinal satellite had been providing some clear pictures, and if you squint really hard, you could see NEW PLANETS! Thank you for doing my challenge, and I hope you enjoyed it. I will be posting more soon . But until then, keep on flying, and don't forget to pack the snacks! - ThinkOutsideTheHangar
  15. Yeah, im fooling around because I'm too lazy to build a space station, so I did the single launch 529 part one. I'll try docking with MJ.
  16. Ion engines aren't OP when you consider the massive amount of electricity it uses.
  17. Year 3000 A.D: I abuse hyper edit and pass the speed of light. Then I go to jail.
  18. I was fooling around with hyper edit when I realized I could break the laws of physics with it. I will post pictures later but I will tell you it is on an escape trajectory out of the Sun, with and altitude of about 600,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 KM and velocities of about 200,000,000,000,000.0 m/s. Faster than the speed of light. 5 things I notices about breaking the laws of physics: 1.Navball unusable 2. Achieved new height Symbol (E) 3. So fast it seems stationary (the debug bar even says so!) 4. Beautiful view of the Sun 5. Ext temp too cold to register Pictures (Coming soon): Take that, Einstein!
  19. My ship, when I teleport, just spins in a way that all parts except the command pod fling outwards and explode, even at reasonable altitudes. Any suggestions?
