Thanks Ralathon. That's what I wanted to know. Maybe, but Phobos gets in the way of the space elevator. If you want to build a space elevator on Mars, you have to do something about Phobos.

The US Navy has got this new railgun. They say it can launch a 23 lb missile up to speeds of mach 7. If you put these on Phobos and instead of shooting missiles; shoot pieces of Phobos, would you be able to get Phobos into a synchronous orbit? ( A synchronous orbit for Phobos would allow a space elevator between Phobos and Mars.) How much of Phobos would be left once it got to synchronous orbit?

The alarm clock button is overlapping the time warp control. When I press the clock button it starts a time warp. Is there a way I can move the button? Thanks

I would like to be able to switch between ion engines and regular rockets. In other words, turn off the liquid fuel rocket and turn on the ion engine in order to preserve fuel. That way I can save the liquid rocket fuel for take offs and landings by using the ion engines for deep space course corrections without adding stages. Thank you for considering my suggestion.
