  1. I have seen similar comments, but nothing exactly like what I am looking for. Mechjeb used to work great! Yeah docking was iffy, and I could blow through Monopropellant if I was not careful, but ascents and landings were flawless. In fact, I had rockets land from orbit right on top of the launch pad! For a while, I had a veritable forest of landed rockets scattered around the launch pad. But the last few months I can't even land anywhere near the launch site. Sometimes I crash into the mountains, other times I am far out to sea. Sometimes I come screaming in with plenty of fuel, and it does not even attempt to straighten up and land vertically. So, any ideas? What am I doing wrong? Is it Mechjeb?
  2. Thanks for the help. I was using the FTmn 280 nuclear engine to get the Mk1 into orbit, but it is just too large and heavy for much else. Your help was just the bit I needed. I used X200-16's for two of the tanks and that worked well. However, the resulting lander is quite large and it topples over easily, so I still have some work to do. Thanks.
  3. I have looked through "almost" every posting and I cannot see that anyone has done what I am trying to do. But I could be wrong. I want to build a SSTO with these specifications -Vertical takeoff to circular 70km orbit and then back to vertical landing at space port without refueling -No air-breathing engines -MK1-2 command pod (3 men). -No Parachutes I can do this with the Command Pod MK1, and almost with the 2-man MK2 lander-can. I am at the point where if I add more fuel, it just uses that fuel to carry itself. And if I get too much more fuel, then I don't have the thrust to get into orbit. Catch-22. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
  4. Are there instructions on how to use the wing parts? I notice that they don't "snap" together and it is sometimes difficult to line them up properly. Additionally, when I have several wing parts and i want to attach something like a fuel tank or engine to more than one wing part, it will only "attach" to one part and then when it is on the runway, the wing separates and flaps around. is there a way to attach something to multiple parts so it all sticks together?
