  1. anyone tested this with 1.0 yet? I am still waiting on a couple of my other mods to be updated, but it would be nice to know if this was working.
  2. I was just wondering if we could get a mod compatibility sticky, I realize that this update probably broke more mods than normal
  3. oh, ok misunderstood the previous post, great, at least as they integrate mods, I can stop having to install quite so many. (Looks like DRE is no longer necessary, and I may be able to cut Karbonite, depending on how they put in resources)
  4. why did they still keep one of them constant? neither one is constant, AJE already has both Isp and Thrust highly variable for jet engines, so it isn't impossible in the game engine. in a real engine, mass flow is constant for constant chamber conditions, but thrust and Isp vary depending on exit conditions as thrust=mass flow*exit velocity+(exit pressure-atmospheric pressure)*exit area, and Isp=thrust/(mass flow*9.81), exit velocity is constant depending on chamber conditions, but obviously atmospheric pressure isn't constant
  5. for some reason I can't complete the eva contract, before I recover the vessel everything is checked except for the last one (recover or transmit) then I recover and everything unchecks
  6. I usually have to wait about a month for everything to update, nothing new...I probably have way too many mods but I couldn't play without them
  7. hey, just my OCD here, but is there a reason that you have the inclination requirements so tight, and not about 90 degrees? if it was at least 89.5-90.5 that would make sense, but with it being near 80 degrees, you don't even get full coverage of the body you are orbiting.
  8. no luck, the counter ran out, went away, then re-started on 0.6.7, so it isn't the version. - - - Updated - - - just re-instaled 0.7.0 as well as re-installed 1.0.2 of this mod, and it finally completed. not sure what the issue was.
  9. nothing is losing the checkmark, it just isn't completing and the counter for the shake out is just re-setting. I used Hyperedit to make sure the network was spaced properly (only after getting it as close as the game engine would allow), and the orbital periods were exact, so it isn't the orbits.
  10. the shake out isn't registering as complete, I have a 3 satellite network around kerbin, and they are not losing contact with each other. it gets down to a few seconds and then it re-sets to a full day. please help.
  11. whatever the problem was, it appears to have fixed itself, I got both the scansat, and the remote tech contracts for kerbin
  12. I don't have the start contracts, I also installed the scansat contract pack and the advanced progression pack, the advanced progression pack is working, but I haven't gotten any scansat contracts either, so it may actually be that pack interfering with the other two. will check the debug menu next time I boot the game.
  13. I was just wondering when the first of these contracts unlocked. Because I am currently doing a career run and haven't gotten any of these contracts yet.
  14. I completed a mun survey contract, (I did a crew report within range of the area, and at a low enough altitude) but for some reason, it didn't register. does anyone know which line to change in the save file to force it to complete? I already tried the "state =" line under the PARAM line, but all that did was change the tracking of the contract, it still didn't register completion. I haven't had issues with any other contract so far, I suspect this issue has to do with the mod I have installed that gives me the true altitude above the ground, and not ASL, but I didn't have any issues with any other low altitude mun surveys, but right now, I just want to know which line to change in the save file.
  15. I was just wondering why these chutes were free to use in terms of price in career after the initial purchase in R&D? anyone have any good ideas for pricing these?
  16. I will try that next time I re-enter, there is no mass loss due to ablative shields as I am simply entering at an extremely shallow trajectory with my engine first, so yes retrograde.
  17. This mod is not giving me anywhere near the correct calculation for my impact location my current rocket is re-entering from minmus with an initial pe of about 40 km and I don't actually leave the atmo, but this mod is saying that I will. I am using DRE and FAR.
  18. thanks, I was actually using the beta with hard settings, but I just installed the latest official and used that hard setting file you gave me, will update if it worked.
  19. quick question, I have FAR installed, and when I reenter from a high kerbin orbit (Mun, or Minmus), with PE within kerbin I only lose about 3 units of ablative material on the small command pod. Is FAR decreasing the heating I am getting? because that seems a bit low. Stock size kerbin.
  20. 32 bit, ap~100 km pe=anything, nothing heats up even if it doesn't have heat shielding, and if it does have ablative heat shielding then absolutely none of it burns off, I am using v6.5.0 of DRE, but this has been going on for a couple versions for me. I even did a reentry directly from the mun and nothing happened. no custom .cfg, where are the logs found, and how do I open the debug menu?
  21. DRE isn't working for me, I can reenter at any angle and velocity, and nothing will burn up, and the ablative shielding doesn't burn off. I tried deleting it and re-installing but nothing happened, I use FAR, but not RSS.
  22. I use FAR, so I guess that is why I figured they were the same
  23. the way that rocket engines currently work is that they have constant thrust, and a varying Isp with altitude, when in fact both will change. The Advanced Jet Engines mod already fixes this for jets, but rockets still have the issue. the correct model of rocket thrust when fully simplified is... thrust=mass flow rate*exit velocity+exit area*(exit pressure-ambient pressure), when you divide this value by the mass flow rate you get the equivalent exit velocity which when divided by the gravitational acceleration at the surface of earth which is 9.81 m/s gives you the Isp
