  1. My desktop pc finally met its demise last night whilst moving my computer desk to bleed the radiator in the room. The scene: Desktop comp ontop of the desk (way too big to fit anywhere else (under or inside the cupboard)), large computer with a radiator and liquid cooling tank, very expansive machine (£1400 roughly) but aging a bit. I tried going under the desk but the extended socket is directly under the radiator plug, and remembering from a few years back............"something something water bang" Instinct told me 'lets not do this over electrics "LIVE or Not"', so I started pulling and slowly dragging my desk out, completely oblivious to the fact the extension for the socket's cable was just about the on/off pipe of the radiator..... The Result: "SMASH......glug glug glug" is all I heard, slowly opening my eyes knowing the result... the cable tightly wrapped around the radiator pipe and the pc just laying there oozing liquid, it was the sorriest scene I ever did witness, as its life force was slowly leaking on the floor I thought to my self, meh not that bad it was pretty old, but then it dawned on me, 'I cant really afford a pc of that power'. Then an epiphany, 'my works laptop' I suddenly thought it has a developers spec, no NVidia card by any means but 8gb ram i5 2.5ghz chip and a half decent on-board 4500 chipset, so after the recent demise of my desktop, im currently (without their knowledge) using my laptop rom work installing steam and some other games until I can replace my machine, will it run?, ill post my dxdiag to give a bit more info: ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 4/25/2014, 11:33:16 Machine name: xxxxxxxxxx Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_ldr.130801-1934) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: xxxxxxxxxx System Model: xxxxxxxxxx BIOS: Phoenix BIOS SC-T v2.2 Processor: Intel® Core i5-3210M CPU @ 2.50GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.5GHz Memory: 8192MB RAM Available OS Memory: 8052MB RAM Page File: 3975MB used, 12127MB available Windows Dir: C:\windows DirectX Version: DirectX 11 DX Setup Parameters: Not found User DPI Setting: Using System DPI System DPI Setting: 96 DPI (100 percent) DWM DPI Scaling: Disabled DxDiag Version: 6.01.7601.17514 32bit Unicode --------------- Display Devices --------------- Card name: Intel® HD Graphics 4000 Manufacturer: Intel Corporation Chip type: Intel® HD Graphics Family DAC type: Internal Device Key: xxxxxxxxxx Display Memory: 1696 MB Dedicated Memory: 64 MB Shared Memory: 1632 MB Current Mode: 1366 x 768 (32 bit) (60Hz) Monitor Name: Generic PnP Monitor Monitor Model: unknown Monitor Id: xxxxxxxxxxx Native Mode: 1366 x 768(p) (59.998Hz) Output Type: Internal Driver Name: xxxxxxxxx Driver File Version: 8.15.0010.2696 (English) Driver Version: 8.15.10.2696 DDI Version: 11 Driver Model: WDDM 1.1 Driver Attributes: Final Retail Driver Date/Size: 3/28/2012 10:47:50, 8087040 bytes WHQL Logo'd: Yes WHQL Date Stamp: Device Identifier:xxxxxxxx Vendor ID: 0x8086 Device ID: 0x0166 SubSys ID: 0x16C110CF Revision ID: 0x0009 Driver Strong Name: xxxxxxx Rank Of Driver: 00F60001 Video Accel: ModeMPEG2_A ModeMPEG2_C ModeWMV9_C ModeVC1_C D3D9 Overlay: Supported DXVA-HD: Supported DDraw Status: Enabled D3D Status: Enabled AGP Status: Enabled PS. I bled the radiator and the room is a lot quieter and NOW a lot more spacious.
  2. Not sure if this has been suggested, I don't post here a lot, mostly reading threads, think of this as a template to a challenge: Multiple asteroids all in the same orbit as Mun but they have to be following Mun pretty close to them (so it looks like a trail), but in various sizes from big (the mun) all the way down to the smallest asteroid you can find, I suppose a simple way to prove it would be a screen shot of the star map, if some one wants to make this into a challenge, go for it, I have no idea just an imagination
  3. Good point, my laptop almost melts with the game in full screen , id hate to think what it would be like having to deal with more than 1 visual application... but I see your point
  4. Hi guys, just a little confused, I know that there is a desktop calculator, hone app, web etc... I know this may seem menial suggestion but Why is there not a calculator in game, this would save me alt tabbing out, and I cant find my 89' casio anywhere couldn't find it in already suggested sticky. Your thoughts?
  5. Exactly this is what I was thinking, visual things though, like the runway and all that. Thanks for summing this up easier
  6. LOL, cheers, so ridiculously easily straightforward, I overlooked the number keys, how silly of me, thanks for that. Would make sense seeing as they are mapped to 1-0 custom keys. Will try tonight on a ship just plastered in stuff to get a feel for it. Regards Matt.
  7. Its great to see this discussion, I was unaware of many of these anomalies already in the game, I have somewhat orbited many moons and planets and have yet to come across any of them mentioned previously, I wonder if it is graphically impossible to see them with an orbit of around 30k? Any ways nice too see some interest, as for the caves, I did not mean them to be literal, just like some raised mountain with concave area, not a full blown cave. as for alien ship, its only alien if the kerbals have no idea where it came from I suppose, on the other and, taking 'Ship Sample' would probably leave a foot print of where it came from, probably kerbal, as a secret privately funded space project, just trying to throw some ideas into the mix basing them on possible events.
  8. Nothing, stuck in work, not a lot to do, reading forum, reminiscing on times past and flights gone by, chuckling at first time landing attempts, and the look on Bill Kermans face as his rocket ell apart mid flight..... Jeb is out there somewhere.....somewhere..
  9. Been playing a while, couldn't find any decent thorough tutorials on staging, want to get my ship to deploy arrays in one click, use science etc in one click, real struggling ith it, as I seem to create these action groups but have no idea how to use them, or if they are even set up correctly. thanks in advance
  10. Hi guys, first post here ive played this now for about 200 hours since Dec, and I am playing career with no mods, I was wondering if this has been discussed before, as I visit the discussion board quite often (daily) and decided to register and create a topic, this may be controversial, an some what unrealistic, but instead of randomly generating planets/surfaces, why not small/large objects like alien craft/artefacts shallow caves (for science samples or 'bonus tech' from a material sample) which could give a boost in science/rocket tech, and general excitement as one orbits a planet and sees some fuzzy object lying on a planet/moon that they have not been to, this would also put more 'Discovery' into the game as apposed to just the rocket science. Just a suggestion, id like some opinions on this, and will try to respond to all answers, and talk on this subject asap, as I am currently 'in work'...... and the bosses are lurking... cheers guys.
