My desktop pc finally met its demise last night whilst moving my computer desk to bleed the radiator in the room. The scene: Desktop comp ontop of the desk (way too big to fit anywhere else (under or inside the cupboard)), large computer with a radiator and liquid cooling tank, very expansive machine (£1400 roughly) but aging a bit. I tried going under the desk but the extended socket is directly under the radiator plug, and remembering from a few years back............"something something water bang" Instinct told me 'lets not do this over electrics "LIVE or Not"', so I started pulling and slowly dragging my desk out, completely oblivious to the fact the extension for the socket's cable was just about the on/off pipe of the radiator..... The Result: "SMASH......glug glug glug" is all I heard, slowly opening my eyes knowing the result... the cable tightly wrapped around the radiator pipe and the pc just laying there oozing liquid, it was the sorriest scene I ever did witness, as its life force was slowly leaking on the floor I thought to my self, meh not that bad it was pretty old, but then it dawned on me, 'I cant really afford a pc of that power'. Then an epiphany, 'my works laptop' I suddenly thought it has a developers spec, no NVidia card by any means but 8gb ram i5 2.5ghz chip and a half decent on-board 4500 chipset, so after the recent demise of my desktop, im currently (without their knowledge) using my laptop rom work installing steam and some other games until I can replace my machine, will it run?, ill post my dxdiag to give a bit more info: ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 4/25/2014, 11:33:16 Machine name: xxxxxxxxxx Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_ldr.130801-1934) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: xxxxxxxxxx System Model: xxxxxxxxxx BIOS: Phoenix BIOS SC-T v2.2 Processor: Intel® Core i5-3210M CPU @ 2.50GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.5GHz Memory: 8192MB RAM Available OS Memory: 8052MB RAM Page File: 3975MB used, 12127MB available Windows Dir: C:\windows DirectX Version: DirectX 11 DX Setup Parameters: Not found User DPI Setting: Using System DPI System DPI Setting: 96 DPI (100 percent) DWM DPI Scaling: Disabled DxDiag Version: 6.01.7601.17514 32bit Unicode --------------- Display Devices --------------- Card name: Intel® HD Graphics 4000 Manufacturer: Intel Corporation Chip type: Intel® HD Graphics Family DAC type: Internal Device Key: xxxxxxxxxx Display Memory: 1696 MB Dedicated Memory: 64 MB Shared Memory: 1632 MB Current Mode: 1366 x 768 (32 bit) (60Hz) Monitor Name: Generic PnP Monitor Monitor Model: unknown Monitor Id: xxxxxxxxxxx Native Mode: 1366 x 768(p) (59.998Hz) Output Type: Internal Driver Name: xxxxxxxxx Driver File Version: 8.15.0010.2696 (English) Driver Version: 8.15.10.2696 DDI Version: 11 Driver Model: WDDM 1.1 Driver Attributes: Final Retail Driver Date/Size: 3/28/2012 10:47:50, 8087040 bytes WHQL Logo'd: Yes WHQL Date Stamp: Device Identifier:xxxxxxxx Vendor ID: 0x8086 Device ID: 0x0166 SubSys ID: 0x16C110CF Revision ID: 0x0009 Driver Strong Name: xxxxxxx Rank Of Driver: 00F60001 Video Accel: ModeMPEG2_A ModeMPEG2_C ModeWMV9_C ModeVC1_C D3D9 Overlay: Supported DXVA-HD: Supported DDraw Status: Enabled D3D Status: Enabled AGP Status: Enabled PS.
