  1. If you include FAR you'll absolutely must include B9 procedural parts too. You should also consider RPM and 1st person EVA. If you don't have to get out of first person view anymore it'll be true role-playing.
  2. He used Infernal Robotics for the moving platform in the cargo hold. Notice, there's someone who is developing new parts for that mod which look really pretty. For the wings he used Procedural Wings. There's also a competitor in the making by the guy who did B9. You'll probably need Active Texture Management as you must be quite close to the memory limit. If you're game crashes on loading this is the mod for you!
  3. He can use as many as he like. The test parts are not limited in numbers.
  4. I don't mind if we get this feature with the next forum software.
  5. Of course I don't know. But given the fact an unborn swims in a fluid in a woman it'll feel almost like there's no gravity. I don't think that there'll huge life-threatening effects in a low-G enviroment. Didn't scientists send pregnant animals to the ISS?
  6. You heat shield is still clipped inside. No matter what numbers you use, it won't work correctly.
  7. I'll test out every new stuff. After that I'll wait a while until most of my beloved mods are updated.
  8. Hello everybody! I know there's a new forum software in the making. Could you add country flags to a user's profile? User's should be able to choose a flag which is displayed near their nickname beneath a post. It should be optional as not everyone what to disclose their nationality. User's should also be able to choose from any flag (= not automatic). The KSP forum is an international forum and the lingua france is English. But not everybody speeks good English. I see some bitching because of that or just plain confusion about every two days. A flag will indicate if a user may not be that good in writing and understanding English so other users can adjust to that. (= Use simpler words, ask questions to clarify the user's intend.) The location property is often misused for something different (example "C:\"). Flags wouldn't allow that. What do you think about that? Have a nice day!
  9. Why do you think the children will be deformed? The shape of an unborn child is defined by it's genes, not by gravity. Or do you mean something different?
  10. Specifications are unknown. But HoloLens is supposed to come out at the Windows 10 release. That's around autumn IRC. We will get a lot more information in the coming months. And you can be sure that Microsoft hired some specialists who make sure that their device will not toast your eyes or brain. Enlighten us! What's the definition of holograms? So a hologram is a 3D image, made out of light. There is no restriction that forbids special googles. And what's the definition of augumented reality? Especially the last sentence is important. In a nutshell: AR adds context-dependent media and information to real life objects to a user's perception which he can manipulate somehow. From that definitions we can conclude that the HoloLens enables AR with the use of holograms.
  11. There's a limit how fast a shield can ablate. You can see that in the cfgs. For the small pod there are three values: 650°C - start of ablation; 1000°C - peak ablation (I think that's the point where the heat transfer is most efficient); 3000°C - max. ablation rate For the small pod part temperature equals heat shield temperature. 1250°C part heat resistance could be the reason for disintegration.
  12. It can happen. Ablation can only transfer a limited "amount" of heat away. If you're heating up faster than that you'll burn up.
  13. There are 7 billion people in the world. Several million have a name which starts with a V. It could be anybody. And if Maxmaps means an already dead human it doesn't make it easier. Yeah of course the V-person must have something to do with space & stuff but even then we're talking about thousands of people.
  14. On this site there are several methods discussed: http://www.microsofttranslator.com/bv.aspx?from=&to=en&a=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.drg-gss.org%2Ftypo3%2Fhtml%2Findex.php%3Fid%3D74 IMO the method with mirrors is the best one because we are already able to build one of the needed size. Of course there's still the problem how to get a very very VERY thin mirror with a mass of 200 000 tons to Mars. At the moment we are happy if we can send a 1 ton probe there.
  15. Microsoft demonstrated HoloLens. In case somebody didn't see that, look here: Notice this could be used to build rockets for KSP! I wonder what the target audience is. Only designers, technicans and engineers? Or do they intend to sell it for average consumers too?
  16. You can try to make the battery the root part. Then remove the cupola. Now add the heat shield. Finally add the cupola again. - or the other way around - Place a part, for example the orange tank. Put the heat shield on top. Now place whatever parts you want on top of it. Change the root part to something above the heat shield and remove the orange tank.
  17. They will polish up what currently in the game and then they'll release it. After a while there'll be an update which brings multiplayer. KSP2? Don't know but if it'll come I'll get it. ^^
  18. V = Vehicle I guess parts get an overhaul. They deserve that.
  19. The heat shield is clipped inside. This confuses FAR which itself reports wrong numbers to DRE. That's why the heating doesn't work correctly.
  20. That's a spurious argument. There can't be a discussion if you answer like that.
  21. You compare today's multi-billion dollar space programs with what they did 60 years ago? Oh come on...
  22. You are arguing with numbers of which nobody knows much they affect the result. We know how long the development of life took on Earth but we don't know if that's a short, normal or long time compared to other life developments on other planets.
  23. Underlaying software like the TCP/IP implementation for all platforms are already perfected. And there's always an abstract interface to use them, so you don't need to know how it works in detail. Look at that book: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0470147733?ie=UTF8&tag=thelinufoun-20&link_code=as3&camp=211189&creative=373489&creativeASIN=0470147733 It's 770 pages thick! There are maybe 100 people in the world who know everything which is described there.
  24. Simulations, tests, analyses. There are a lot of them. And for each you'll need weeks or months to prepare, execute and evaluate. It's not like you can weld some parts together, fill them with fuel and say "ready to go". There's a video on YouTube where they test the SSMEs because they never tested them at the needed thrust for SLS.
