Seriously enjoying the write-up on your grand tour. It's seems a very Kerbal thing to do: leave broken and ruined landers, planes and rovers on every orbiting body you can.

I decided to set up some seismic detectors on the Man. Of the 6 I sent only 1 actually "landed". Fortunately there was enough left of the remaining probes that the project was still a success. The subsequent impactors were able to get Max Science!
