[Collection] Kosmos Spacecraft Design Bureau (SSPP 4.1 6/12/12)
Normak replied to Normak's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I\'m back, guys. I\'ll take care of some things real quick. I\'ll need to talk to cardboard to see what he\'s been up to. Edit- this is going to take a bit, actually, but I have all the files and images uploading to new hosts so I can get this thing running again. Mechjeb will still be outdated for a little bit longer until I can coordinate another release. Edit 2- should be operational now. -

We\'ll need a new solution soon. I\'m out of town right now so I can\'t really do much, but as soon as I get to a good computer I\'ll move the files over. -

Sorry everyone, I have to take a break for a few days. I have some responsibilities that I have to deal with. -

Actually, the whole pack was originally going to be green and white, but we got a lot of complaints about it so we changed to steel blue. I like it better this way, but we have discussed other color schemes. Also, I just downloaded Delvar\'s versions of our parts, I\'ll put them in the main downloads tonight. -edit: It will have to wait until tomorrow. -

That was just a small cut-corner. Changing the file name changes the public link in the dropbox, so a change in the file name would require me to edit the OP in this thread. I just took care of it because was apparently bothering someone. : -

SSPP 4.1 update has been released. The new lockdown and RCS thrusters are in there and the docking nodes should be fixed. We\'ve also done some other stealth bug fixes since the thing was released, so if you downloaded 4.0 on day one you\'ll get a few other changes as well. -

I put it back in before you even wrote this. -

Just a heads up, I may have fixed the broken axis on our docking nodes. If that\'s the case, expect that fix to be in SSPP 4.1. -

Interesting! I had a bit of trouble with the panels being fidgety when I was working on the pack, but I assumed it was an issue with staging and not something critical. Cardboard is the one who manages the plugins, and when he\'s next online I\'m sure we could test this out and work on it. He asked me to do a hotfix for SSPP, but aside from a minor bugfix I\'ve already put in, the lockdown and new RCS have not yet been included. I\'m sure we\'ll do a real update to 4.1 when we get the panel issue sorted and that\'s when you\'ll see the new parts. To be honest, despite the issues, this launch seems to be going better than previous updates. -

Updated. All three packs are now released, SSPP 4, Angara 3, and LK 1. As always, if there are bugs, post them here and we\'ll get to them in the morning. Also, if you try to download SSPP right now you\'ll probably get an error, because the updated file is in the dropbox but needs a chance to upload. -

Release candidates are being compiled into their respective folders and I\'ve nuked my Dropbox to make room for them. Expect at least two of the three packs to update tonight. -

We\'ve been working on the update all night, but we\'re going to have to push it back one more day because of an array of minor issues that need to be taken care of. The good news is that the pack is working better than it ever has before. -

I will admit that I have been somewhat lazy these past few days. I\'ve had things going on, yes, but I really should have set aside some time to get that update done. Sorry everyone. If there\'s no update tomorrow, feel free to throw rocks at me. -

Sorry about the download issue, I misunderstood something Cardboard told me and got rid of the old download link. It\'s back now. -

More tease. Cardboard and I are extensively testing these parts, but the next update does not currently have a release date. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/43321825/screenshot3%20%283%29.png http://dl.dropbox.com/u/43321825/screenshot4%20%283%29.png http://dl.dropbox.com/u/43321825/screenshot5.png -
Try looking into the Kosmos SSPP- it\'s a very extensive pack for space stations and such.

This stuff keeps getting away from me, but rest assured I haven\'t disappeared again. Cardboard, I\'m sorry about the limited contact lately. I\'ll be back soon. -

I\'ll get on that stuff tomorrow. I\'m graduating on the 18th, but I only have to take two exams this week so my schedule has, at long last, opened up. Sorry for the lousy wait. -

Parts will take a long time to load the first time the game boots after installation because the game has to create mesh files for each of the new parts. In past releases, these files were included, but were excluded from this release to decrease the size of the archives and to save space in my dropbox. Also, I have found that the parts that require the plugin (make sure that is in the plugins folder, if you\'ve forgotten) will tend to stall the game after initial instalation. Remove the solar panels, rendezvous engines, and other parts that require to plugin, boot the game all the way, then re-add those parts and try booting again. That\'s what fixed it for me. -

After doing a bit of research into the matter, I can see that the name 'Bropyaga' was a mistake. Cardboard told me that this was a translation for the term runabout, or 'small vehicle.' According to Google, it is a misspelling of the word Brodyaga, which has less desirable connotations, among them 'tramp' and 'hobo.' Cardboard, you\'re fired. =P I suggested the name Drotik during development, which Google says is the translation of 'Javelin,' which I felt was appropriate, as it is an object thrown a great distance. I thought the most appropriate use for the vehicle would be circum-munar flight, although I have done landings with it. -
