I've made some ships and assemblies that are fairly complicated (for me, anyway) in career mode. I wanted to start a science mode just for fun, but I don't know how. I've tried moving the .craft files from the different modes (the .craft files in VAB folder in career to the .craft files in the VAB folder in science, etc.). I would really, REALLY rather not have to rebuild the ships and assemblies again. Is there something I'm missing? Thank you to anyone who can help.

I have been having a nightmare trying to get my idea to work. I've connected the SRBs to the quad adapter, but when I try to launch with a ship like this: The SRBs will randomly detach from the adapter. I have yet to have a launch where the SRBs broke off in the same way. If they broke off in the same way, I could have an idea where the problem is, but like I said, it is completely, totally, and utterly random if/when the SRBs will break off. The SRBs have struts connecting each other, but I can't figure out a way to connect them to the separator, and they won't connect to the adapter itself. Anything that sticks out far enough to get a strut attached ends up running into something else. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
