WW2 BAD-T IV BDAc AI Dogfight Tournament
Noir replied to SuicidalInsanity's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
So I wrote a somewhat long post, but ended up accidentally clicking on one of the many links on the page, deleting all my work. It would be nice if there was some kind of conformation popup when you are about to leave the page when you have stuff written in the reply box. Lets try this again. Heh. I don’t really have high expectations for Snowpiercer. There are many issues that I either couldn’t fix or couldn’t be bothered fixing. My match against the Bot has been the closest so far, so it will be interesting to see how things pan out. Images and details about the craft in the spoilers. Maybe someone will find my ramblings interesting or helpful. The Guns: The wings: The fuel is only located in a single wing segment.- 261 replies

That went slightly better than I expected it to go. Although that last round was rather funny.- 261 replies

WW2 BAD-T IV BDAc AI Dogfight Tournament
Noir replied to SuicidalInsanity's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
I was dealing with the stuttering while building my plane. It's extremely annoying because I almost never get/notice any major stuttering in my main game, which has more mods installed. I think it might also have an effect on the AI, as I noticed during testing that the AI would fail to fire or straight up miss during the stutter period. With what Pds314 said, I know a lot of Cities Skylines Youtubers slow down the in game speed with mods to help with smoothing out the video. Good fight either way. It'll be interesting to see how things pan out.- 261 replies

Thanks. I would have made the centre tube/fuselage wider, to make it more seamless which is how the Mk.I was. But, I didn't want to cover up the engines to much and be consider cheaty or anything. That part isn't even connected to anything, it's just there for looks. This is what I was originally basing the design on. The British also had a bi-plane with a similar configuration.- 261 replies

It's not the most practical, but it gives it a very interesting look though. https://kerbalx.com/Noir/Snowpiercer-MkXI- 261 replies

I'm working on a heavy fighter, which is almost complete. I don't expect much from it, but it should do better than my BAD-T II entry...- 261 replies

Small question, does this rule refer to all airbrakes including ones made from control surfaces, or does it only refer to the A.I.R.B.R.A.K.E.S part?- 261 replies

Today I began work on a new Space Shuttle orbiter design for when 0.25 comes along that also works with FAR. In completely unrelated news, when Bob got out of his car this morning to go to work, he saw a strange machine sitting just out side of the car park. I'm sure it's nothing.

This mod is differently great for making shuttles.

totm june 2018 Work-in-Progress [WIP] Design Thread
Noir replied to GusTurbo's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
There have been a lot of Me 262s lately. Well here's mine, still a WIP and the third version I've made, they have come a long way. Made for FAR too, although buggy for some reason... And here’s my Vampire, fourth version. Still have a lot to do, might make a fifth version yet . Still need to paint both as well. I sometimes forget this is a game about space... -
Today I finished up my F-15 that I started a few days ago. Comes with a terrible kicking 80's paint job and two Null-rays that can make electrical devices stop working with a single shot... according to the Wikipedia page.
-
I must say that is a really nice pod. It would be a fun ride on Gilly with that.

The BFE-5000... How'd you get it working again?
-
This might be a bit late... but; I don't have much experience with asteroids but I do with planes. Personally I'd use the basic jet engines over the ones you have, since I'm pretty sure they give you more thrust in lower altitudes plus they use less fuel as well, two things you'll need when lugging a several ton rock around . Also, do you have a plan on getting the wings into orbit, plus how are you going to deorbit it? Other than that, it looks like it might work, plus I don't think anyone has tried flying an asteroid down.
-
Everybody's capturing asteroids, and here I am painting and flying an F/A-18 "Kermit". And it against a Formula One Car. Both still WIP. And more pictures can be found here.

[Showcase] Replica Craft thread!

Here's my CAC CA-15 "Kangaroo". Could still use some work though. And here's the real thing for comparison along with the Wiki link for reference. -
After my success with the Me 262 and Vampire Science Bombers, I decide to continue recreating jet-powered WWII science-gathering aircraft, and attempted to recreate the Heinkel He 162. Attempted Not pictured: Jeb spinning out and crashing into the VAB. On the bright side, engines look a lot cooler with the HotRocket mod. I also flew my new -unnamed-highly-experimental-totally-didn't-asymmetrically-run-out-of-fuel-during-testing- WIP Science Bombers side by side, kinda.
-
Sure. Basically the "bombs" are just used to collect science with out having to land or transmit the data. Here you go! https://www.dropbox.com/s/0tnwtn11fb9rf42/Vampire%20L89%20Science%20Bomber.craft Action groups: '1' drops the extra fuel under the wings and '2' drops the "science bombs" It could be better. Both the Vampire and Me 262 would look much better if we had '0.5m' jet engines.
