Now for those sandbox players who want to make absolutely anything and everything, we're not exactly BAD at the game, but from time to time, design completely overtakes function and we end up with the coolest looking thing that flies like a milk truck with wings. I still sometimes make things that ARE very functional and do look good at the same time, but this is a thread for the hopeless creations Here's a thread to post em Here's my SR-71 cousin. Flying Starfish (Flies upside-down)

What was your biggest payload you have launched into orbit?
XyllyX replied to TheScareCake!'s topic in KSP1 Discussion
Idk how heavy this is The solar panels made this an absolute chore to get into orbit -
It's an addiction, you should probably know when to stop yourself if you're clipping wings inside wings or engines inside engines though. As long as I can make something that looks nice, I'm alright.

Made a stock bomber, I love it (even though it was yesterday) Features an opening payload bay 15 Bombs And sleek form factor
-
But that's the reason I use it, mainly to make it look nice. I can put empty fuselage parts on my jets as well as tail connectors to curve out the shape, otherwise my stock non-clipped jets come out all blocky.

Post your planes of any type here! [.23]

Snap, that's cool. Can I make something similar? -

Here's a stock bomber I made yesterday (only parts that aren't stock are cameras) -
Some say it's cheating (It technically is), but still maintain that parts are stock, no matter how much times someone may have clipped an engine or two to produce twice the amount of power in the same form factor, and for some, it simply makes parts look great. And now I can't play without it. I didn't do anything spectacular with the parts in order to give it more power, if anything made it heaver. The clipping tanks at the back are just fuselage parts with no fuel, and I have no hidden wings or anything. I only used clipping to make it look nice, however, I have been guilty of sticking extra invisible wings to generate more lift on some other planes. So what's your opinion on parts clipping? Do you use it? Do you use it for power, or aesthetics?

I've got a few, but no screenshots. I gotta make more now, though.

DT-64 "Colossus" Because I despise Rendezvous and docking, but I looooove solar panels. -
Extracting ship(s) from SFS

Why not just save it and delete it if it doesn't work? Also, why not just edit the design until something works instead of starting over? -

[WIP] CrossOver Packs (Release 0.2) - B9 all the things!
XyllyX replied to PolecatEZ's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
So just to clarify, I need parts mod for this? Dang, I always liked how B9 looked, but I'm afraid I'm a stock hog. I just want to replace the vanilla textures ;~; -
Download link added, enjoy your brand-new Raptor M100 SSUV
-
Thanks, everyone I'll get on my desktop tomorrow and upload it to dropbox Do you guys want the lifter as well, or just the rover? the lifter is pretty...unwieldy
-
I'm just wondering, I know B9 has some, but if you're going to put planes in your game, can we have air brakes please? Maybe some people will complain they're OP, but of course air brakes are a very real construct and if you follow real-life examples, you can't really go wrong in having them. I think even the NASA shuttle has an air brake, plus it would make lateral landings a lot less frustrating, especially since some of the textures make it hard to see how close to the ground you are, even with lights on.

If KSP had been created in 1985, Whackjob would of had to.....
XyllyX replied to pslytely psycho's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Whack could play KSP on a Nokia 3310, and sit there for days waiting for the rocket to load -
Got my wicked rover to Duna This was actually yesterday...but still.

Hey, I'm wondering if anyone here knows anything about this. the FXAA injector is basically a piece of software someone made that lets you change small parts of any DirectX application's visuals, ranging from Anti-aliasing to bloom and radial blur. I've been using it on a range of applications such as MMOs and other things, and I've been thinking of trying it on KSP. Right now though, I'm on my laptop, which is not the computer I use for playing KSP, that and the FXAA injector is not compatible with with PC because of some software conflicts I have yet to figure out. Otherwise, it works on pretty much everything in the desktop version. Similar to ENB in some ways (except this works with a GUI rather than just a config file like it does with most games), you can save configs and modify some of the effects. Of course, it's limited, it does not feature things like SSAO, Depth of Field (I would freaking love Depth of Field in KSP) or Motion Blur. As an outline of some of the effects it's capable of, it includes FXAA, Bloom, radial blur and I think some pseudo-HDR type stuff. I'm not too sure what else. There's also colour adjustment (just RGB levels as you'd expect, turn your KSP into a dark, contrasty film-noir if you want.) a couple of scaleable filters (scan lines and stuff, like you'd see on old TVs or whatever), and that's all I can remember, but there's probably a lot more tools on it. So the main question is, has anyone tried KSP with it? I've tried looking for threads, but I can't seem to find any. I'm currently swamped with work right now, so as for me, I can't really show anyone any screenshots or try it out for myself yet. As for the actual Injector download, I'm not sure how Squad feels about linking it, so you'll have to Google it yourself, it shouldn't be hard to find. Anyway, I'm going to do some work, but I will check the thread and answer questions if anyone has any. Better yet, feel free to try it yourself, so long as there's no rules or anything against it which I'm not aware of.

I got it on Duna guys! Note: This is my first time landing on Duna P.S: Just reminding you guys, if you really want this, I'll post a link to it.

Thanks, and the EVA repair thing I did not know about, would've saved me a lot of trouble on a lot of things.
-
My friend suggested this, this is probably going to be my next move with this thing. I think both of them were around 300 parts
-
I did it for a while, and it was fun. Eventually though, those darn rover tyres give in and collapse, forcing me to load quicksave. Still, I'd do it again and reload. Some of the air I got was insane

Carpathia - Ultra Long Range SSTO VTOL Cruiser
XyllyX replied to Cupcake...'s topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Doesn't the point of an SSTO mean it shouldn't have to jettison any parts? I mean it's still single stage to orbit but this is just me being difficult still, impressive range and a cool plane, well done!
