Welcome to the forums! As per youtubers, I suggest EnterElysium and Macey Dean, Both have great videos. As per the person who said KurtJmac and scott manley, i seccond those two suggestions.

I'd like some hints and help on how i would create a part pack... Nothing big since it's my first. I don't have any 3D Modeling program, i do have paint.net for textures and stuff. So what can i do? Mostly rocket parts. Thanks for replying !

All my space stations we're lost in a great attack from the great space kraken while on it's way to laythe to have Laythe 12's lander refuel to be able to rendezvous with the return vehicle, Sadly the great 2 stations one carrying the return vehicle the other going to refuel the lander once they were making their burn to rendezvous both of the stations started twirling then broke apart, One station's part hit the other and blew up all the stations... (I like to make complicated missions, they're more satisfying!) So i can't give any pics of mine... So heres a describe, And Showoff yours! Zerfer Station: My first ISS and Mobile refueling station, It was in service for 3-4 Kerbal Years. In it's carreer it monitered, refueled and completed many missions for the KSC. Until it was destroyed in a random space kraken tragedy. Station 12: The seccond station and mobile refueling and task fullfilling station. It was in service for 3-4 Kerbal years as was the zerfer station, Zerfer station was the mother station to Station 12. Serving as a communications and operation helper. It's carreer was long and well. Until it was then attacked with zerfer station in a freak Space Kraken Tragedy. So there's mine! Go ahead and tell me yours!

Lack Luster Labs, Perfect for more square colony shuttles, Trucks even adds kethane fuel squares for trucks! Home 1.0.5 But sadly it's outdated and probably never going to be dated, Works in version 0.21. Sadly they just don't make anymore colony part packs anymore...

Lowest mass, or the smallest in height. Either ones are submittable. You don't got to make the whole thing just the return vehicle. Nor must you land on duna. (The return vehicle dosen't need all the other fuels just the main return vehicle, option to add fuel is accepted but harder)

I don't know if theres a new way to do it, But i do it the old school way, I get the main thing into space then build all the other parts seperately and launch them 1 by 1 and dock them with the main station part! That's how i do it, It may be slow but it's alot of fun. So is that how you do it too? Or just me? Or was that the old way?

The goal of this challenge is to make a duna return vehicle AS SMALL as CAN BE! DISCLAIMER: I did some digging and it appears this is possible so if i'm wrong then i apologize, But i did alot of research and it seems possible! Rules: You can't use Alt-F12 You can't use HyperEdit You can't use any type of cheat. Mechjeb exception! (Since it's not nescessarily a cheat) I'd like to see pictures proving it's small as possible! Also you don't need to put the fuel on the return vehicle just the return vehicle itself, like the lander or whatever. Goal: To make the smallest duna return vehicle possible! How to win?: Try to make it as small as possible so when compared with atleast 5 with a max of 10 Probe cores. (The square ones.) What's the prize?: Well for one bragging rights, And for 2 you can have the challenge wraith thing on your signature And if that's not enough YOU EVEN GET A SIGNATURE!!! Here's the preview: So yeah, Show the picture of your return vehicle, And measured by the probe core amount of atleast 5 to a max of 10 There is exceptions if that number isn't possible, You don't need to go to duna just show it measured and show it itself.

Welcome to the forums! The only thing i can think of since you have no way to get into orbit again is your best bet is to send a rescue ship and get the surviving kerbals in the ship and fly them home and land with parachutes like you would any other mission. There is a more cheaty/risky way, That's to use your jetpack to get into orbit and do a space walk to kerbin, But then stay in orbit around kerbin and rendezvous with the kerbal, Have the kerbal spacewalk to the ship and board it then go home like you would. That's all i can say, Kerbals don't have parachutes so don't try to land with an EVA on kerbin.

Alright, As I Said Im Not Good With ETAs. And the equator should be my best bet? Alright, this May be a noob question but, Do i need an equatorial orbit or a circular orbit. (Forgot the name of the circle one) to get to laythe's equator?

I'm going to be working on Project Hives, A project where we colonize laythe. I know that laythe is almost completely water, And i haven't landed on laythe before except for an emergency crash landing but that was a save back in .21 so i deleted it. So i'd like not to crash land into water this time. We're going to probably have alot of kerbals onboard so there's NO room for mistakes or casualties. So the landing spot i'd like to be landing on is not a small island, The colonists would like a big country like island so they can inspect it, Have all kinds of fun do science etc, They're prepared to be in space for a long time. But i'm thinking of an ETA Like... I don't know maybe 100 or less days in space. (I'm not good at estimating how long) So i'd like to know what is a perfect landing spot on Laythe? I chose laythe because it's the most like kerbin and the colonists will feel more at home. So whats a good landing spot for laythe? Also if you know can you tell me how big laythe's atmosphere is? Is it thin or big?

A few million years ago the big bang happened, Forming the kerbol system... And the kerbal race. The kerbals knew why they were here... To rise as a species. So these are the tales and the journeys of the kerbals rising. Chapter One: Kerbals Rising Kerbin was young, The kerbals were younger. They're numbers small. They wondered how they would start, One kerbal caught something in their eye sparkling and green! He ran over to it and picked it up, It was kethane! Though the kerbals didn't know that. He gave it to one of the kerbals and the others circled around him, Wondering. What is this majestic shiny material? And how would they find out what it was even? One kerbal sayed they may know somehow! The kerbals asked in disbelief, How would you know? As far as we know were the only ones in this galaxy! The kerbal sayed "Come i saw something over there!" The kerbals ran following him... There stood, stuck in a hole... There we're ancient scriptures, In an ancient language the kerbals yet to understand! One kerbal sayed they think that those scriptures came from our ancestors! The kerbalens. On a planet somewhere... The kerbals gasped in disbelief! The kerbal then sayed he thinks he knows what it says, He read on... "We have reached our ending... A more knowledgable and capable species will take on the kerbal race to glory... Whoever you are, You must build a space center!" The kerbals gasped in disbelief! Was this true? Was this the start of a destiny for kerbalkind? The kerbal said, We must build a space center! The other kerbals agreed confidently! So they searched for stuff that could work to build the space center, One of the kerbals found a very silver and shiney material, It was metal. They named it. The dug down more finding a whole deposit of metal! Big enough to build a VAB (Although they didn't know it was a VAB!) They hastily dug the metal out and started building a building! Once it was done in a few days, They didn't know what to call it... They scratched their heads, Think, think, Think! They said what would be in a space center! One of them hastily yelled and raised their hand! And said... Maybe we could call it a tracking station! They all yelled agreeing Yes! So they stayed up all night trying to get a working sattellite, It was harder than they thought! It would take longer than a day to make a sattellite! So the next day... They we're exhausted from a night of working! So they all setup some tents with sticks and cloth, And a simple cloth bed. They slept that day, Then they woke up well wide awake and were ready to get working again! One of the kerbals, Jebediah's cousin Jake Kerman, Said..."Will we be able to create a Space Center?" Jake's friend sayed "Sure we will, it's not we have to it's that its our destiny!" Those words re-assured jake, It put a grin on his face. But the kerbals had a strange feeling in there stomachs... They we're hungry! So what would they eat? The searched for something that looked edible, They found a tree with a red thing... (An apple but they did not know it!) one kerbal helped the other kerbal grab it by standing on their shoulders, Being the small beings that they are. One of them found a sharp stick and washed it with some water then cutted the apple into tiny half's then they each ate one of the half's, The felt better but they had to find some more, But not now! Now they had to get working on the space center! So they went back to their mining hole, Then grabbed some metal with his brothers also grabbing metal then they ran outside and started working on a tall new building, This building took longer than the tracking station! After about 6 months, Almost a year they managed to create the VAB! They all thought in a group... What should we call this one of them yelled VAB Vehicle assembly building! The group yelled yes! Perfection! All of this was very overwhelming to the kerbals, What did this mean? Why are we doing this? They soon will find out. After finding tons of apples they stored them in the undergound metal mine, In ice they found so it would cyrostasis the apples preserving them! (That was not the most real life accurate sentence in the world, I'm being creative alright leave out the cyrostasis with ice isn't possible comments!) So then the kerbals ran out of metal, They kept digging and luckily found alot of metal, they thought maybe enough to finish the whole space center! But one question remained... What is that green material, they keep running into it in the mines, when they mined it dust came out, They started thinking it was a mineral, So they kept mining metal and the green materials! After building and bonding the group of kerbals became friend quickly, They're teamwork was swell too! They then started building the Space plane hangar! So the year 2, the kerbals were proud of they're accomplishments. But they know that still there's much to be done. So they thought what was a hangar? They found a picture on the ground showing the kerbalen's hangar. They had a glimpse of what it should be! The kerbals knew that they had to get to work, Another big building is going to take a while. So they wondered, If that was the kerbalen's hangar, How do they use it? Was it a door? So they started working on a few prototypes of doors, One where they would push it open, Or use a vehicle to open it, Until they found some rope and created a prototype when you raise the rope, The door opens! So they built the hangar first, The door should wait. Once they completed it a few months later they started working on the door, The knew how it had to be made. So once they created it they began trying to fit it on the hangar, It wasen't staying! So they used ropes to make it stay on parts of the hangar while keeping it's mobility! After they got the hangar door working they saw a triangle looking thing, It was a spaceplane. The kerbals knew that this meant something, They didn't know what was in the sky, But they knew it was their destiny to visit it! I'm thinking of more ideas and getting pictures for chapter 2! So it should be here later today or tommorrow.
