  1. Oh yes it gets to the Mun just fine, with plenty of fuel to spare (not even using any lander fuel either). Heck, I bet if there was another planet it could easily make it there. If I remove the super heavy lander from the top and just use stock parts to make a lander, it reaches the Mun far too easy. I figured out that I can zoom out by using +/- on the numpad, so now to make something even larger, because 18 LFEs just isn\'t enough.
  2. I think this is the appropriate thread for my MunLander launcher. The first stage consists of 6 SRBs and 18 LFEs. Honestly, if I could figure out how to zoom out in the VAB it would be even bigger but as it is, it takes up all of the space I can see. It\'s made of completely stock parts aside from the massive 5 metre lander that sits atop of it. Edit: Actually I probably should have read beyond the topic title ;P Perhaps you should consider learning how to deal with large ships using stock parts before going to modded parts as they add a new amount of variability among them that you need to account for. I know I am not personally a fan of the firelark modules because they\'re plain and simple too much power.
  3. I have a personal belief that anything less than overkill just isn\'t the Kerbal way. With that being said, I made a rocket that uses only stock parts aside from the lander itself, which is the MunLander by MaryG. I enjoyed the challenge of such a heavy lander in comparison to things that could be made with stock parts.
  4. Long time reader, first time poster on these forums. I\'ve been playing since the first release of this game, but this is the first time I constructed such a monster that I had to share it. I took the Mun Lander to the Mun using only stock parts (aside from the lander itself obviously). Of course I got to the Mun and still had many parts left over so I just jettisoned them. Because anything less than overkill isn\'t Kerbal: Edit: put some more pics of it up.
