Can someone give a short tutorial, on how to use this? I installed the mod, and everything is looking fine (I can see the pop up dial with options in KSP). Also, when in editor, if I click the icon, I get one message with predictions. However, if I add extra stages, with chutes, i dont get extra messages. And dont get recovery messages in the end... P.S. Just got a message with some recoveries, but dont know why this time... Could it be its because I didnt see them land?

Hi, I have just restarted playing KSP and getting to know contracts/funds. After launches, I can successfully recover all the parts that are attached to the main capsule, but all the jettison parts I cannot. I tried putting them down with parachutes, so the dont explode and land close to my main capsule, yet I still dont get funds for their recovery. Am I missing something, or is this not possible yet? (Or will I need to put a command module on every jettisoned part?) Thanks

So I reinstalled KSP and installed the following mods: MechJeb (for custom info panels), FinePrint (so many contracts, i like it), Fairings (like good-looking rockets), ScienceAlert (convenient), Alarm (convenient), SatScan (another thing to do). Everything seems to be working fine, so let the space race begin (again)!

Hi, I played KSP ~6 month ago for a bit (managed to land and return from Gilly, (just an fyi on how "advanced" I was). Now, Im guessing I would want to start all over, in order to do the career mode again, with new features added. Am I correct to think, that I need to: 1) Update KSP via steam and go to mods folder to remember what mods I had, and update them one-by-one? 2) And if I were to delete a couple of mods, would my old save not work? (I'd like to delete life-support mod, as in the end it was too much hassle to maintain) P.S. 3) Any career focused mods you would recommend? Thanks

Hello, So today I did my most complex and the longest mission I've ever done. I flew from Kerbin to Eve, where I landed two probes, and then to Gilly, where I landed with Jeb, and then returned to Kerbin! It was real fun designing a rocket, and thinking about everything that it will have to do . I think I made it too good, as I came back with about 3-4k deltaV left . And the hardest part was lift off, before I added more struts (without them, rocket was bending at around 10km, with no way of controlling it) Please have a look at my journey, and share any tips if you see anything weird (I got about 3k science from this trip and I think I will be very close to finishing my career tree!)

Can I make F2 hide everything except NavBall?

So I created a custom MechJeb window, with all info I need, and removed others. So what I have now: Apiopsis Periapsis Time to AP Time to PE Real altitude Inclination Expended dV + all stages deltaV + maneuver assistant (to execute nodes) Any other info that you keep on your screen, that could be useful? (i couldnt find electricity info in MechJeb, is it there?) -
I decided to visit Eve for the first time, so I sent 4 satellites (2 to Gilly/Eve), all in one go. (My first ever:)) (Didnt expect Gilly to be so small, largest orbit I could get was ~110km, and I need ~250km for one of the mapping satellites:) Anyway, next, there will be several probe landings to Eve for some science! (Probably not going to do manned landing yet, as I understand lifting from it is very difficult)

Hi, When launching bigger rockets, during ascent stage my PC lags a bit, but i noticed that I can get 20+ FPS if I press F2 and disable all the UI (Mechjeb+Stock meters). I would be fine without them while ascending, but I need my NavBall for my gravity turn. Can this be done? (I dont want to be in IVA for this). Now im just pressing F2 to check. P.S. I probably have to much info on the screen using MechJeb, but I want to know everything.... Thanks

Ways of attaching payload to your rocket

Hi, I have no problem lifting several payloads and releasing them one-by-one in space. However, I want to have payloads attached next to each other. For instance, I want to send 2-3 satellites to Duna (+- identical ones, so same weight distribution), but I want them stacked one next to each other, and not one on top of each other. I tried using those cubic structural things, but they dont attach the way I would like them (they seem not to attach with each other sideways). So: 1) How do you attach your payloads? Always vertically, or horizontally as well? Any other ways? 2) Ways of attaching payload horizontally/next to each other? And slightly different question: 3) When creating rovers in VOB, how to know how it will be connected once in subassembly? How can I make it connectible in that place, where I want it? Thanks!

Isn't it easier to design planes, when you dont need to worry about changing CoM (as they are all in one place) and area where to place engines, if clipping them too? It's a single player game, so you can play however you want, but I just think that enabling unlimited fuel is easier, and you can make as pretty aircrafts as you want then:)

Well, my laptop is gaming Asus G73 (intel i7 q720 and radeon 5870m). I personally think that CPU is the limiting factor and not the GPU, therefore I think that all the calculations decrease my fps. (If I press F2, I get some increase in fps). So what are the most CPU intensive tasks? (Probably everything is very CPU dependent, but maybe there are several, that tops this?) I'll try not to use docked parts while ascending, and connect parts using separators, as someone suggested. -
Hi, I can create stages of rockets fine, as long as above stages have less or equal engines than bottom stages. However, if I want more engines at further stages, I cant seem to make them connect properly. Imagine the configuration: ... tank 1-to-2 slots extender engine engine decoupler decoupler flipped 1-to-2 extender (so 2-to-1) tank ... In assembly mode, everything looks fine, but once on launchpad, it becomes obvious that one of the engines are not connecting properly. So then I have to use struts to keep it in place. Are there better ways of achieving this? Thanks P.S. Sorry, I dont have a picture right now, but can upload it in the evening (if my explanation is unclear).

Thanks for tips Benoit. This might be it. I had my station as main payload, but on top of it I had a Minmus lander attached by docking port and two struts. So for better performance, it would have beet better to attach this lander by normal separator? -

Hi, First, check that your radars are in the correct altitudes http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/entries/1103-Using-SCANSat . Second, I think SCATSat might not work with very high timewarp settings, but i think anything below 50x should work (or works for me). -
Hi, I noticed (well, this is to be expected) that a rocket with ~50 parts are easily rendered and with high FPS. However, when I fly rocket with ~150 parts, it slows down my pc quite a bit (mobile 1st gen i7 + 5870m + 8gb ram). I wanted to ask, if all the parts have the same influence on the game engine. Is one tank causing the same loss of performance as one solar panel? Or maybe struts cause a lot of trouble? Basically, please share anything regarding increasing performance in the ascend stage? And which parts to use the least, if they are known for big performance loss. Thanks
