  1. Anyone have any screenshots of the "Toyota Corolla" Mun lander back from when the Mk 1 command module was still around? Basically anything with a Mk 1 module, a fueltank, same era landing engine and some legs? I was hoping to come here to check around the first few pages, but it seems like there was a wipe some time ago. :/
  2. Once its an old hat you'll have to modify missions to have rendezvous then move to other planets or something.
  3. The LM parts are a little finneky though, be careful! See my signature.
  4. Wow Nutt those pieces are huge! Or at least they look large from this perspective, that RCS thruster doesn't look all that small on closer inspection.
  5. Since 0.17 is rumored to break persistence files, I've halted all further missions until it comes out. Until then, I've been planning some missions to launch when 0.17 comes out. Its a rather large picture, and the ones with the red dots next to them have yet to be designed. [spoiler=] This is what I do during bio, calc and chem.
  6. Glad to have been inspiration for once! If your engines gimbal, then you could put them on very low power and use that to maneuver. It makes it more difficult but the end product is more rewarding. I didn't think to add RCS on my actual rocket until the 3rd or 4th launch, I only used what I had on the module I was putting up. Also, I wish I had seen your memorial plaques when I made my memorial video. Those are nice.
  7. Good sir, that is an awesome few missions you have done. Very cool. I'm just leaving this everywhere I can in hopes that one day it may go viral. bahahaha, odds of that happening? 1:19043720387602876305^3 Also in my signature is an Apollo 11 video I made.
  8. Nice job! But you can also use only RCS with big, heavy craft as well.
  9. You can google "kerpollo" and you will find a link to kspyards. The rocket there is the one I used in the below mission. Comes with Saturn V, SM, CM, and LM. The parts are weirdly scaled, but it will get to the Mun and land. You'll have to find a separate escape tower, I used NovaPunch's I believe. Heres my Apollo 11 mission. It is fairly accurate (except the launch angle. That was a herpderp), using information I found at the Kennedy Space Center.
  10. I love seeing the smoke trails coming off the Dreflügler, that must be one sick Kerbal. I miss the game. I can't wait to get home to play nonstop!
  11. You could always just have something like this. From Kennedy Space Center (sorry, my video camera doesn't take that fantastic of stills). Though I think that too many memorials will be over the top.
  12. The Saturn V pack is very very capable of getting the S-IC, S-II, S-IVB, LM, SM, and CM to their proper positions in the Apollo missions, though the engines aren't rated to ISP values, they're still the thrust capacity. I just posted a fairly accurate Apollo video yesterday. And Ekku, I think your rocket's staging might have been messed up when you uploaded your .craft. I could be flying it wrong (with Mechjeb after the first manual failure), but after the initial stage, I initialized the second stage and the fairings blew off and the escape tower ignited and left the bulk of the rocket behind. This was at 13km. Your #8 stage is placed incorrectly. I really like the design though, its great. I fiddled with the staging, and it does indeed resemble the Apollo missions. Very nice job.
  13. Last time I tried this, the pieces collided with each other and exploded. ;(
  14. Instead of creating a one off thread for my video, I went and dug for a half hour to find this one (search didn't help much) and necropost. And also instead of posting in the Armstrong remembrance thread, I think it'll do just fine here. Heres my Apollo 11 mission. It is fairly accurate (to my knowledge), using information I found at the Kennedy Space Center.
  15. I really like the way it looks in your signature. Very serene. Then again, I'll always be a fan of your stuff.
  16. The Kosmos packs were closed because of unbalanced parts for .16. Send me a PM.
  17. Thanks! The large ones are from Kosmos (as well as the radiators and accordion looking panel), the skinny ones are from Mechanical Mouse Industries, they recharge the batteries. I'm still looking for a way to get the Kosmos ones to charge the batteries as well (there are a couple threads out there that I've been eyeing).
  18. Afaik, the best you can do besides staging is right clicking on them. For the staging, they should look like a strut or something close to that. If you hover over the piece in build mode, it'll light up which segment it is on the staging bar.
  19. A station is a station, simplicity does not matter! On that note, my Aries Station at a LKO of 400km. 80% legitimately put into orbit. I say 80% because the frames were so bad that I couldn't manage the rendezvous on my crappy Mac CPU.
  20. You're referring to what's in the part.cfg right? All the panels I use have the // in front of those lines of text which tell me that the code doesn't access them. I've been wondering the same thing for quite some time now, thanks for summing it all up nhnifong (you seem to post a lot of stuff relevant to my issues/interests ) *I personally use powertech because it came with Mechanical Mouse Industries, but I don't think its the best of things to use. *I'll probably give the others a shot sometime down the road when class isn't so hectic (that'll never happen). I had actually posted a similar thread to this asking if anyone knew how to edit the part.cfg of a panel to work with powertech, I think the answer will appear somewhere in here after some time. I think that we should elect an ambassador (my vote goes to nhnifong) to talk to the creators of the several well known*power mods to collaborate and make a single power mod. There'd probably be a lot of butting of heads amongst them, but for the users I think that a grand 0.17 release would be so greatly appreciated.
  21. While I was testing out my Lunar Lander for my next video, I noticed an arch that I have yet to land at. I was pretty surprised that I found it when I wasn't even looking for it. Can't wait to get there! (Or more likely, crash there!)
  22. I'm so glad many have transitioned from Dropbox to Mediafire! On topic, Great work Tiberion!
  23. I did exactly that last week with a Delta IV rocket. You can find the video under my name on YouTube if you're interested.
  24. I think that I have just found my method of launching large stations and bases to the other planets. Great idea.
