  1. Hello, I've run into a potential bug. I have a ship that has one of those RealChute in-line cylindrical parachutes, but as of recently, loading the ship in either the VAB or the launchpad results in the game freezing at full CPU. After waiting over 20 minutes I'd just kill the process. In previous loads, the ship would eventually load after about 5 minutes, so I've taken a look at the log file, and it showed a large time gap between something about the chute and the item before it. There were four or so lines saying something about the scaling of the chute (I since lost the log entry). Afterwards I edited the .craft file for the ship, removed the chute from the code, changed the attach points of its adjacent parts, and re-opened the ship in KSP with no problem. I attached a RealChute Radial Chute and moving it to the launch pad has so far had no problem. If I were to make a guess, I'd bet it's something about the part's dynamic scaling (in the GUI where you can change the size of the part). I think this because before it started freezing indefinitely, loading the ship in the VAB would have a lot of other parts offset slightly from their normal positions. I did play around with scaling the part (after attaching it) so maybe that's why?
  2. I want to chime in too and say thanks for the advice with the experimental version. It completely fixed the issues with the data not updating or breaking when adding certain parts. I'm really looking forward to better compatibility with FAR though. Atmospheric efficiency is easily one of the most important data from KER and its presence is missed.
  3. First I want to say thank you for making the engines look much nicer. However, I want to add my name to the list of those people who think the flame effects are way too slow. It's weird seeing the flames dribble out at a leisurely pace while the smoke effects are flying away at Mach 1+. It may make the flames look more contiguous, but it's just too weird for me. In real rockets, the flames should be coming out faster than the rocket is travelling (what with equal and opposite reactions and whatnot).
  4. I've been having a few problems with this mod too. One of them is, as mentioned before, the issue with the condensation effects dropping my FPS down to 1-2 (many craft stay around Mach 1 for a while too, meaning a lot of lag). But here's the bigger problem. I don't know if other people had this before or not, but when I changed the condensation and the distortion both to 0 (the distortion effect seemed to make all of my sounds really distorted all the time), nothing changed. I still have condensation and distortion. So then I uninstalled the mod (completely removed the AtmosphericSoundEnhancement folder) and it STILL has condensation effects and distortion. I'm looking at maybe having to reinstall the whole game. Another, less important, issue is that I noticed the shockwave cone when I moved my camera around in one of my spaceplanes once, but I haven't been seeing it with any of my rockets after going above Mach 1. I haven't tried it again recently with a spaceplane, so I'm not sure if other mods may be affecting it, or if my version is broken. EDIT: It seems to have been related to the HotRockets mod. Uninstalling it has fixed the sound issues I was getting. The condensation, however, I guess was part of the stock game, I just never noticed it before I guess I suppose there's nothing I can do about stock game condensation. It's only a bother on rockets with 100+ parts (i.e. only at launch), so it's not worth turning down the atmospheric effects settings.
