    Spacecraft Engineer
  1. Back when the game was so easy I could crash a massive rocket and afford to rebuild it and launch again, I used the escape tower. Currently, I'm playing on the standard hard difficult. With the addition of building upgrades, etc, I have no spare funds and would have gone bankrupt ages ago if I didn't revert to VAB. Yes, I know I'm a cheater.
  2. KSP, like all games, is just a game. I get bored of all my games. I eventually come back a month (or possibly a few months, or years) later and it's fresh all over again. Right now I'm playing Silent Hunter. It's not that KSP is boring, but I just need a break from it.
  3. Game is just barely in beta. Things don't need to remain backward compatible. People should expect updates will probably break things.
  4. Agreed. I don't know how rovers can be made more useful, but I hope they find a way. The only time I made practical use of a rover, I collected science from two biomes in addition to the one I landed in (Mun). The time it took to collect that science made it rather a waste of time. I could've built 3 landers and landed them in those individual biomes instead. I'm hoping that I find more use for rovers in 0.9 but I'm not optimistic.
  5. it happened to me a few times in the past (not recently). I learned to occasionally make a back up of the saved game by creating a copy of the save folder in the KSP directory.
  6. I average a few minutes a day. That said, I'll typically play 1-2 hours per day (more on the weekend) for a month or two at a time then move onto another game or hobby for a few months.
  7. I would just like to say that all the new features put into 0.90 make it so much better than it was (and it was already great)! I haven't explored anything beyond Kerbin yet but the game is still engaging. The new contracts are fun, and the career is so much more challenging now that you have to pay for building upgrades to unlock critical features. As always, very well done Squad!
  8. I realize it's off topic, but I personally don't mind "game-sound-only" videos. I don't bother watching poorly narrated videos, or videos with music I dislike.
  9. This is why I play windowed. Also, it's easier to multitask (cue up youtube videos, netflix, search wikipedia, etc.) in window mode. Multi-monitor would be nice though.
  10. I haven't had a big problem with it, but I too am experiencing problems with the camera. The Kerbal will NOT face the direction the camera is facing and instead I'm looking at Jeb's feet while guiding him. I also have noticed lately that Kerbals fall off the ladder more often as well as send themselves cartwheeling into space when trying to grab ladders, but maybe it's not new. Maybe the EVA behaviors of my kerbals has finally just gotten on my nerves.
  11. Maybe Kerbals are just bad engineers and all their buildings are sitting on shaky foundations? Or all their good engineers went into aerospace engineering and all the bad engineers ended up in civil engineering.
  12. Hard mode is too easy (or rather, it's great but not quite as hard as I thought it would be). I modified it to start with maximum negative reputation, zero credits, and 50% science/money payout. Now THAT's a challenge!
  13. A mission that spawns: Prevent asteroid impact with KSC. Perfectly suited to the new destructible buildings feature!
  14. I've orbited everything. I don't remember landing on Vall. I've attempted "landing" on Jool. I've crashed into Tylo. Never tried to "land" on Kerbol but I got into a lowish orbit. (My Kerballed missions haven't gone anywhere except Kerbin and Duna systems. I hate killing or stranding Kerbals...)
  15. I don't have the photos on me now, but... forget to switch symmetry mode back on when doing one final reposition of lander legs before hitting launch. I landed on the Mun with 2 legs on one side and none on the other. Turns out I didn't need the legs anyway, just wasted weight.
