  1. yup, makes sense, and pretty much what I was thinking anyway. Just thought I'd check before changing the status to solved.
  2. Should this issue be raised as a bug (if not already) or is it considered a side-effect of upgrading through "beta" versions?
  3. Thanks for the tip. I actually lost a lot of my asteroid hunting ships that were in orbit at some point while I was trying to work out the missing parts issue. I'm starting to get some points now doing the easy Kerbin contracts, but my asteroid ships are pretty expensive so I might just treat myself to funds to cover buying one or two of them back again.
  4. Thanks, that did the trick. I looked through the tech tree before making the change and noticed what you mentioned... the RCS appeared in multiple nodes and the ones in the new node were showing as needing research among other components that must have been available when I originally unlocked that node. It turns out they are easy to spot because there is a number appearing on each node that has locked items in it, so I just went through them and researched all the other bits and pieces that had the same problem. I do have a new problem now, which is that I don't have enough money to actually afford to "buy" the ships I've built, but I guess that's just something I'll have to work towards now, or maybe look at that other thread about converting to a Science mode... or perhaps time to start from scratch and meet the new challenges with the basic parts and my much improved rocketry skills
  5. Greetings, After starting KSP up for the first time in a while to play some contracts I've found all my RCS parts are locked and say I need to unlock them from R&D. Looking at the tech tree though shows they are already unlocked. I've started the game with no mods loaded at all but they still don't show as available. Is there a config file I need to fix somewhere to get them to show again? It won't let me fly any of my ships now because of the missing RCS. Also seem to be missing the FL-R25 tanks as well which are in the same fuel systems group. Parts like the fuel duct are still available though(?!?)
  6. Can we add alarms while in the Tracking Station view now? i.e. Asteroid SoI/encounters?
  7. Hmm. Interesting. Two of the Kerbals that were "in orbit" were named Bill (there was only one in the original missions), and there was still a Kerbal left on the ship, so it looks like Bill got duplicated when whatever bug hit that put them in orbit by themselves. I couldn't "fly" the docked ships at all from the tracking station, and selecting "switch to" on the orbit map would tell me I couldn't because they had parts that were not allowed. I flew another ship up to rendezvous and I was then able to use the "change to nearby objects" keys "[]" to then switch to the docked ships and control them again. I found however that the docking ports wouldn't give me the option to undock and separate, so the two ships seem to be permanently stuck together. There is also a Kerbal that went on EVA on the docked ships and is currently sitting in one of those external command chairs. I can no longer get him out of the chair. The only choice it gives me is to do an EVA report, so it looks like he might have a bit of a fun trip down when I de-orbit the ships.
  8. I've encountered a couple of issues: * When I go to the Tracking Station for the first time, I can select an object and *sometimes* "fly" it, but when I return to the tracking station I can't select anything anymore and the only thing I can do is "disconnect" from KMP and rejoin the server to be active again. Even then, quite often the tracking station will let me select a ship, but clicking "fly" does nothing * I had two ships docked in space, each with three kerbals on board. When I came back to the game just now, I've found there are three kerbals in orbit along different parts of the orbit on their own (no ship). There is still a ship on the same orbit path, but I can't "fly" it so I don't know what condition it is in (is it still 2 docked ships or has one gone?). I can see the server has done an "optimize database" since I left and rejoined, so I don't know if they got "optimized" as free floating kerbals in orbit.
