Nawww, it has the Mohole, neat craters, a huge sun, it's a challenge to get too, it's perfect for driving rovers, etc. The real boring one is Dres.
-
This thread is more heated than Moho
-
Lord help us if it's not.... But it is, right?

Holy Batman! Mad props to all of you, it sounds like great things are getting done. Really hyped about interstage faring and logos! Keep it up!
-
Eyebrows... ehhh, not a huge fan, but all the power to Squad for implementing female Kerbals!
-
I... I can't say I particularly like it. The shape is nice, but the eyebrows look wonky and the hairline is weird. Well, better than nothin', and better late than never!

Fully Recoverable stock 0.90 Launcher

4 tons.... is not a lot. I think a lot of people would prefer something cheap, small, and disposable for payloads that small. -
Squadcast Summary (24/01/2015) - The Valentina Edition
Solivagant replied to BudgetHedgehog 's topic in KSP1 Discussion
The two most hyped features in the entire game, getting added at the same time, with fairings and female kernels thrown in as well. I'm not sure I've ever been as excited for an update. -
I'm wondering, what percent of the total mass should my payloads be? The lifters I'm designing carry between 13 and 15 percent, is that an okay amount? What sort of tips do you guys have for improving this?

Designing Launch Vehicles
Solivagant replied to Mad_Maelstrom's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I don't use spreadsheets or back of the napkin calculations, I just fiddle with something that seems good, then find its upper limit and spend a few hours tweaking it to be optimized. My criteria are 2 stages only, not counting boosters, of which I usually use liquid fuel for and there can be no more than 4 boosters.Another must-have is that it has to look nice and realistic. There's nothing wrong with rockets wider than they are tall, but I like sleek, SLS-style stuff with nosecones. Additionally, I'll be set when the aerodynamics overhaul comes. -
Does anybody have their own names for certain parts?

I always call the Rockomax Poodle the "BBQ engine," because it refers to it being used as a barbecue in the description. -
Hey! I've been using this plane for a while, forgot to leave a comment about it. It's great, it handles really well, and I use it for all my Kerbin easter-egg hunting and polar base transport. It seems like the most effective way to fly it is to aim up 45 degrees until it flames out, then wait till the air is thick enough and perform another "hop." It's not the easiest to turn, but that's the only downside I've found so far. Now, a bit late, but + rep!

It's all so beautiful.... All of it.

I caught the Interstellar reference...
-
Also, the great big mountain in the middle of the huge crater on the Mun is Giller's Peak, after my first Kerbal to die after a failed Jool aerocapture.

I set up a base on Minmus for geographical expeditions, been naming everything I come across while roving. Here are my names: http://imgur.com/a/4yLVA

Some people call them spesos, as a play on "pesos" because Squad is in Mexico City and "space." Pretty good, but I just use funds.
-
I used them mostly for small "marker" probes for keeping on track with rover driving. They slow down pretty well, but I never found many other uses for them. I actually like them because they blend in well compared to the gaudy yellow/black of a lot of the other engines.

Zokesia, I just did it through Preview on a mac, editing a photo from off the web. You can add text and save it to the .png.
