  1. After reading all the 5 pages that stacked up, I have some things to say(I did quit, but the notifications kept bugging me): 1. I am happy the mods didn't just lock the thread and let a person still be angry and stop others from teasing him. Like so, they let e community try to find a compromise between the OP's opinion and at of others 2. There are 2 major reasons the forums here appear all shiny and cute and puffy: -Rules which don't allow discussion of adult topics, age freedom and constant post moderation. like so, almost no one gets to see bad posts like on the Minecraft forums(or LoL and WOW) -KSP is a higher level game which requires basic logic, patience and some basic rocket science and physics knowledge. thus the higher standard of people 3. I am a bit unappy with how people reacted here. Thankfully some offered to help real with the matter, while others instantly painted me with oil and tossed me out of the door. Some remain neutral. The posts don't break rules, but you can easily feel the negative and sarcastic tone of some people. Finally, I decided to stay here. I can at least have a proper conversation here with some people. However, I am informing some of you that yo shouldn't just neglect someone instantly if they are different or have a different opinion. If you call is community friendly then don't post posts like those in this thread(the "I'll old the door for you" ones) and don't be a d***. try to be helpful and supportive.
  2. I bought Slyrim, FTL, Planetside 2 DLC, Counter strike: source
  3. iOS love anyone? We make nearly 50% of the market ya know!
  4. The good old days when they promised budgets.....
  5. Hey guys, Just letting you know, I am quitting the forums, either for a few months or forever(most probably). I am used to a completely open community which can freely express its opinions and won't get yelled at or prosecuted like in former USSR. The so-called "friendliness mask" of the forum is just a golden wrapper. People here can't tell the truth or discuss some topics even in a civil matter, just because there might be some kids here. Keeping the forum like that is wrong, there is too much censorship and unrequited rules. Sure, I might even get punished for this post, but you must know one thing: people here aren't kids, and they all already had their own opinions and views. Sharing them is not a crime, and replying negatively about some official KSP services shouldn't be censored, you are supposed to take peoples feedback and use that to make the services better. goodbye!
  6. Squad should definitely just give us hinges already and stop making us come up with glitchy and wobbly alternatives. that aside, GigglePlex, you are definitely an aviation genius.
  7. For some reason many people I talked with aren't as passionate about space as I am. I talked with kids, teenagers of about my age, youth and some older people and here is what I concluded: Kids have a very dillusioned view if space due to dumbed down cartoons and teachers who think the moon doesn't rotate(like my mother) Teenagers don't see any profit and only get informed about space through popular media like YT, movies and the news. 90% of females have no knowledge of space whatsoever, independent of age Older males have interest in space history, but are a little less informed about current space activity. I think what advanced space exploration was competition. The main reason we ever sent a man to the Moon was because the USA wanted to at least conquer the Moon. But now, when most space agencies collaborate, the USA congress and other countries' governments see no need to give their agencies a bigger budget to send people to Mars or other planets because there is nothing to fight for anymore. No one is competing, there are no winners and no losers, but in the end humanity would be e winner anyway. even though the ISS is a good example of international collaboration, at this state we will never get to mars, unless competition rises again(thanks Crimea), or private companies such as SpaceX independently raise funds, OR Deep Space Industries manages to create an asteroid retrievela program and sell resources from them.
  8. It can travel into the future(time warp), but can it travel into the past?
  9. On my machine, 500 part Mir runs mostly smoothly even on max settings. I'd say around 20 FPS, which is bearable. You can also set the max delta physics time frame to 0.04 It will make things smoother, but responsiveness will be slower. oarum, iDan gave me the first 3 modules so I had something to work with and then I just continued on the project. had to do it for him since he can no longer post on the forum for very obvious reasons.
  10. Warping though an SOI change at more than 1x speed will change your trajectory. Very old bug.
  11. Seriously? Angry Birds? NASA just lost my respect... Such cheap popularization of NASA through the (former) most popular game on the AppStore. They should team up with Squad or SimpleRockets, but not with Rovio. At least SpaceX, ROSCOSMOS or the Chinese aren't such sellouts and don't teach people wrong physics. I don't want people to think space is 2 dimensional and is filled with spacebirds and stuff..
  12. As we know, we have 3 main services which support sharing: forum, Curse and reddit. Out of all 3, my favorite is still the forum. Why? Preview windows on Curse are incredibly small and carry no sense whatsoever. Curse is full of ads and premium nagging If you want to share a project, you HAVE to follow a specific format, putting in images is too hard and they automatically get stretched and become ugly. If your project has multiple crafts, you can only then upload an archive( so it counts as 1 file). Even so, it refuses to accept .rar archives. Projects need approval, which also takes time. Now lets talk about reddit: Incredibly confusing interface. Incredibly confusing syntax. Impossible to embed imgur albums in posts. Chaotic placement of posts. Spam bot protection which is broken 90% of the time. After like 2 attempts, you can post only after some 30 minutes. Curse and reddit are just....annoying and frustrating. It took an hour to make a post on reddit, and in the ned I didn't succed. And yes, I read the rules etc. What do you think? Does the forum stay on 1st place? Is dropbox and mediafire easier to use than Curse? Let us know!
  13. Thanks for all the feedback guys! Mir is my fav station, I even used it as a topic in my exam in russian lol, and of all the other topics(like chocolate, trip to the lands of Kent and Famous YouTubers) mine was the most "appropriate" for my age according to the examinators So I felt I had to give some praise to Mir.
  14. 15.7 here! But I guess I started playing KSP back in 2012.
  15. Thanks! Soon: shuttle docking compartment Soyuz
  16. Why? Most developers release for iOS before Android since coding for iOS is much easier since iOS is less gimmicky and there are very few devices that need bug testing. There are less than 20 devices on ios and 1000+ devices on Android so finding problems for its users is easier. I suggest just buying and IPad or iPhone, you will ne'er regret it.
  17. www.space-simulator.com it will be an Orbiter clone for PC and iOS, I gotta say, flying real Soyuz on your iPad is very cool.
  18. Simply amazing, better than maccollo's grand tour even
  19. Mir has always fascinated me as a space station. It was the very first properly modular space station. I thought it would be nice to have one in KSP. Not everyone wants to install mods just for a space station, right? And I didn't really like the replicas I have seen because they had very few detail or had too much parts. So I made a compromise between quality and part count. Behold, the Mir space station! The station consists of 6 parts: Core module Kvant-1 Kvant-2 Kristall Spektr Priroda Here is a good link to a detailed 3D view of Mir to guide you during construction: http://www.russianspaceweb.com/mir.html Hope you like the pack! Also, the fully assembled station is ~500 parts and all of the components come with Duna capable launchers. If you have a good PC, you'll get around 15-30 FPS with the thing fully assembled. Action groups: 1-Toggle panels 2-Toggle antennas 8-Science! Download Thanks to HellBlazer for the front art!
  20. Wow that is awesome! Works similar to the VTOL in the Ghost in the SHell series!
