Whenever I try to change the symmetry mode of a part in the VAB, the game silently crashes. Not every part will do this - I've had a 100% reproduction rate with trying to place a 2.5m nose cone on top of a 2.5m fuel tank. Steps to reproduce: Place the attached .craft file into (KSP folder)/saves/(save folder)/Ships/VAB Open the attached .craft in the VAB Pick up a 2.5m nose cone from the Aerodynamics tab Hover the nose cone over the attach node on top of the exposed fuel tanks, but do not place it Press X (or symmetry-change button, if remapped) to change the symmetry mode More information is available in this bug report.
