  1. Has any of the master builders tried to make the FDL from Elite Dangerous or the 315P from Star Citizen? If so, please post here, I would love to see the designs.
  2. Jett, I downloaded your u-wing, and I like it a lot. Can you please upload the VTOL version too. I only got the original version. Thank you kindly!
  3. I use infant fuel, as I like my sleek space planes and find the old tech in KSP boring and re-living the past. I appreciate NASA, but would rather play a now to future space game. Also, I still don't know to post pictures to the forum
  4. One thing I notice with my space plane is I pitch for 10 degrees and it does the rest. It will auto-pitch up and over ride the SAS at Mach 2 ish. Then when it starts slowing down, AP is already in the 50's, I engage big engine. Stay like that and in less than 5 minutes I'm in orbit. Pretty easy! I'm going through some design changes, as I need a Mun lander now
  5. I like the idea, as I role play that I'm competing against others. My design philosophy is different than my competitions and they always need people rescued in space. I've noticed that the Kerbals I rescue use similar tech as I do, but, are not up to my companies standards. Thus, I get paid to rescue them
  6. I launched my first satellite from my space plane. Now I'm trying to figure out how to build a Mun lander for my space plane.
  7. Isn't it more efficient to assemble that sort of spaceship in orbit? That way you avoid the initial issues of Kerbin?
  8. In my current career play, I only use space planes. In the beginning it was extremely frustrating, but, now that I understand the design principles, I enjoy it a lot more. I would post pics of my designs, but, I have not figured out how to post them to the forum. (Every time I try to post a picture it only wants another internet page) my current design is 40-60 tons with 1 mainsail and 4 whipsaws. It is super fast and gets to orbit quickly. It carries a 6T lander on its back, and a crew carrier of 4. I use it for contracts and to launch to the Mun, thus far. I dropped the mainsail and added VTOL capabilities to it, this is my Kerbal science / sight seeing machine.
  9. I'm all messed up today, crazy day 😃 I meant horizontal takeoff only.
  10. I would, but I'm mobile right now and I don't know how to post pictures. Here is the 80's commercial.
  11. Since I restarted my game, I'm only doing vertical takeoff vehicles. My goal is to build a plane like the title says. Has anyone does this? If not, I challenge people to build one that can transport 5 or more tons to space. When I get home, I will post mine.
  12. Cantab, thanks I will. So far it is fun, but I have not orbited the planet yet.
  13. Now that I have a better understanding of the game, I reset it. In this career mode, im starting with $500,000 and 120 science. The one thing different that I'm doing is that I will only use vehicles that take off horizontally from the air strip! That is the challenge I face. The only vertical take off I did was to get the initial contract satisfied.
  14. After a long frustrating design phase, I was able to get a SSTO to space and orbit today. I'm in a science career and don't even have half the science trees unlocked. It was something I could not stop trying to do. I want to Build the GI Joe Night Raven, with a modular ship on top for exploring the stars. I think that would be awesome!
