  1. hey I'm at school right now and it says that the images are blocked because they're imgur anyway to get around that besides waiting until I'm at my place? id really like to see then since they're being praised right now.
  2. to be honest my first ssto was supposed to be a knock off of the skylon design. i was mostly aiming for a copy of it and i had to tweak a few things ( such as angle a few wing parts to move the col ) but i was really surprised when i got it into the air and it is pretty controllable. and now recently I've started adding on more needed pieces but you can still see the similarities.
  3. i purposely stranded a kerbal "war criminal" on the mun so he can eternally plant flags. he managed to get back some how but upon reentry he discovered the craft was equipped with no parachutes and lacked enough fuel to slow down enough and he died on contact with the ground. recovery missions have shown that what is believed to be the liquified form of his body splattered on the majority of the internal part of the cockpit.
  4. you said it had to be built on duna but I'm just curious could i make the colony on ike instead of duna? it would make getting to orbit to get to the ship easier

  7. not a bad idea! heres a little list i just threw together off the top of my head rtg nuclear engine xenon engine/xenon tanks some of the larger fuel tanks because who would want a giant 3.5 meter fuel tank still having some fuel in land in their yard! what about items that have been in solar orbit for a long period of time? (radiation buildup i guess?) the goo canister the little 1.25 meter science thing what about cockpits that crash and had "mun rocks" on them and people got worried about those rocks poisoning their environments stuff that hits the surface over 3km a second (mini craters anyone?)
  8. it looks like my definition of air hogging is much different than most of everyones here. i have a VERY "loose" definition of air hogging, which for me means anything more than 7 intakes per engine. plus having an army of intakes tends to make a craft ugly so i tend to shy away from it. but hey! its all in the play style
  9. i think if they do introduce multiplayer they should also introduce multiple launch sites that you can pick from.
  10. reserved for later entry. gonna try this with my skylon ssto. its not an issue of getting the lowest its the issue of making the smallest craft imaginable. that can still reach lko.

  12. i did the typical "strap the small srb to the capsule and use the mk 16 chute to come back down" but dude, i remember my first orbit! it was made by using a type in it was a spaceplane because it had air breathing engines but i would shed them every no and then i at the central stage it was a liquid fuel space engine. only to come back later to see that it had disappeared. my guess is that one point of my orbit was under 69.9 km and that it just slowly started to chew away at it.
  13. nah i don't use mods. i think I'm turning into on of those purists who think mods make the game worse.
  14. yeah. some times the game will allow you to run 100 mods at once! then other times the game doesn't even feel like running 2. but welcome to the forums!
  15. i honestly think if they introduced dlc it would do a few of these things 1. people would stop buying ksp. 2. the dlc's would burn and fail 3. so little purchase would be made on the dlc that squad would give a refund and give it out for free 4. the dlc would work out so well they would turn into EA ,at least in their dlc tactics. 5. people would stop playing ksp and petition to remove all current and planned dlc.
  16. i know this isn't much to some people, but i finally made my first working ssto last night!. if i was more efficient on the ascent i probably could have gotten it to a 300x300 km orbit. and it has a cargo bay to deliver satellites! i have been trying to make stto's that are actually useful and this will make my life in career mode a lot easier because the lifting platform I've been using is about 150,000 kerbucks and the ssto I've bade only costs 41,000, so that saves me a lot of cash.
  17. if this is turning into a petition for a higher quality water effects in ksp without a mod I'm in it as well.
  18. idk about you random unplanned explosions but i may know whats up with your satellites. im not sure i never payed much attention to them but i think all the unmanned satellite missions need an antenna. and also make sure your going in the same direction that the little balls on the orbit line are going. other than that good luck.
  19. hey hey hey!!!!!! what about you need science to upgrade verbal society! like you only get really lame extremely low orbit contracts for satellites. and maybe you'll have to compete with other space agencies but if you progress you can become the master space agency. or maybe you just disappear into the thousands of new companies trying to get rich in the boom or bust lifestyle of space.
  20. in science class about to go to english. yesterday we worked on orbits and how the space shuttle worked and I'm sitting here like. really? really? you trying to teach a person who's logged 1000 hours on kerbal about HOW ORBITS WORK.
