Let me quote myself "37:59 with a smooth descent" and to use the TT18 at start is against the rules I made for myself like the rule: always land on this f...ing grey strip. With the Video I want to show all people that it's possible to make good times without any mods, pilot assistants and special tricks. More agressive landing :

Hi all Ok sub-38 is done We fly definitely on the limit of the 1.2 physics. I have make some tests and speed is limited by the altitude. You can save some seconds (only some seconds) if you fly low as possible near the speedlimit on this altitude and hold this speed without a flame out. With this new plane i can reach the limit at lower altitudes and so its faster than my older version, but it's not so easy to handle. 37:59 with a smooth descent. Maybe i can land more agressive and get a better time https://youtu.be/UWke0ExqfA0

Don't look at the speed in the report. After a quickload distance and speed is not exactly. My fastest is 1751.6 like Jarin but my preffered cruising speed is 1748-1750 at a lower altitude to prevent a flame out. I think my fastest impact was under your time . Landing in one piece takes a lot of time but you are on the right way to beat me

There is no difference in time between several altitudes. So I have redesigned the craft and its realy 1.5 m/s faster at the same altitudes This is not so much but maybe it makes the sub-38 possible My current best time is now 38.02 https://youtu.be/jdrGnBIgJ_g Unfortunately the best landing with 37.59 is a fail https://youtu.be/0xTxW-FV_bY

Hm...the monoprop. It is to be worth testing again. Flipping intakes... is it normal that a wall has less drag than a needle:confused:? Hm, let me think about...NO MK1 cmd pod is a regular cockpit. You can see what is possible with regular mounted parts. Try this, that's what I mean. @ExaltedDuck Thanks, I look forward to your next design:)

Believe me, ten seconds are worlds under 39 minutes . I've tested serveral wings and these are the optimum for the whole design. Don't trust writen values, test it. Top speed of the plane (old version without the radial mounted parachute) is 1742 m/s in horizontally flight, but not on the optimal altitude. In this clean version I can reach on this altitude 1739 m/s but top airspeed does not equal to top circumnavigation time. A good ascent, landing and right altitude makes minutes!

Hello @ all, I'm back again This is not a new record, but it shows that it is possible to reach good times with the "new" rules. No mods, no stacking, no reverted cone intake (i have never used that ....)......only a simple plane. What you see is what is in (bad english i now:blush:). It is the craft from my testflight (38:40) at side 37 and Xannari has changed at the same time the rules (no problem you are the boss ). I have only replaced the MK16 Parachutes behind the rapiers with one radial mounted Parachute. 2-3 m/s less average speed at my favorite altitude but it is nearly the same speed from my 38:42 plane. Maybe I'll beat this tomorrow

Concratulations . I think we are near at the best possible time now. In a prograde flight, the planes are so fast that you can not just place the fuel tank where you want without exploding after 10 minutes and in retrograde you need a lot of fuel more. Maybe we will surprised by someone else with a completely different design Very nice pictures. My favorites are the two with the Mun on it. Great By the way, there is a tunnel on the runway.... How did you manage it to land on this place without losing some parts?
