  1. Duh!... it convert perfectly! Thanks for pointing out that its in Earth Day I guess I need to change from a Duna mission to a Eve mission (Kerbin Day 40ish 1500 m/s Dv needed), time to do the Eve challenge I guess... going to get cracking on building a returnable Eve lander and kerbin launch system
  2. So I came across this google doc.... https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AnpCrrNNGwY7dEQ2X0l2QWlnSE91NjNjQnJhWFoxaUE&usp=sharing#gid=0 Where it say the Duna window start as early as day 58 But using Alex Moon or Mechjeb, The sub 1100m/s Dv window doesn't show up anywhere nearly until day 200+ so was the planetary start position updated for 0.25 causing that spreadsheet to be no longer applicable? Does anyone have an updated spreadsheet applicable to 0.25?
  3. I have a vtvl ssto design based off of cupcake's drop ship series that can goto Dunas + ike land on both and return to kerbin but I don't think it got enough delta V for transit to laythe and back, it's 4 turbo jet with 2 lvn 8x intakes air hogging per jet post a pic when I get home
  4. Not my designs, but I've been using these as inspirations for my own SSTO Cargo lifter. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/92447-Firefly-Launch-System-(FLS)-New-Crafts!-The-FLS-KLAW-series! land them back at KSP for 100% fund recovery (less fuel cost) trick to launching is to gain 2000m/s + between 25km and 30km before kicking in the booster to LKO, when the AP is to your desired LKO, feather the jets to minize atomsphereic drag all the way up to 70km
  5. Forgive me for necroing, i got a few newbie questions 1) Why land the lab? why not just land the command pod that was on top of the lab? seem will be useful to leave in orbit and less weight to shoot up in the future 2) how to get the map with all the flag showing? will be useful to see which BIOME i have not visited yet.
  6. Seismic sensor seem to be the best bet then, I'm thinking to do a combo fuel resupply, science recovery pod plus seismic sensor delivery to Mun. for the sensor delivery, maybe a double ended docking ring with the sensor radially attached to the docking rings? That way i can dock it as a sensor package to the lander. The lander has everything except the seismic and barometric (no point bringing Baro to Mun...).
  7. Newbie here. I have managed to unlock all the tech of the 160 science level and the 330 science tech with the RoveMax rover wheels. I have enough science to unlock another 330 science level tech. 2nd mission to Mun managed to put an MPL/Gas station + a 4xGoo/Material lander in orbit around Mun, but the station is running low on fuel and still quite a few (like half) Biomes to go(have the lander fully fueled(4x FT400+8x Toro tank) and not quite enough left in the station for another refuel. also did a cheap 3x Goo/Material landing/return at Minmus earlier. Which one should I unlock? I'm leaning towrad one of the following, but is open to suggestion Nuke rocket engine Ion Engine - Go Interplantery or more cheap light Mun/Mimus Science landers? I do have a MPL in orbit around Mun Sesmic Sensor - more science! Turbojet - SSTO to conserve fund for cargo delivery (doesn't have to be spaceplane, can be SSTO rocket/turbojet), also thinking about using a SSTO to haul fuel up into orbit, want to start thinking about LKO station and staging for interplantery science pillaging. also thikning to see if i can refuel the Mun orbit station with an SSTO and recover the science data (shoulda include a cheap/light science recovery pod for returning to kerbin). Any advice to a n00b would also be greatly appreciated
