  1. I noticed the contracts are more randomized now in 1.0. In 0.9 it seemed that as soon as I got to the Mun, the minmus contract popped up. Then when I got there the Duna and Ike (and Eve) ones showed up. I don't know why it's different in 1.0, perhaps a glitch or intended, but I liked it better in 0.9 (not that I mind the new types of contracts in 1.0) But yeah, the above list sounds right, Dres, Moho and then Eeloo are last. Moho is not that bad to fly to, but the 2000+ dV to capture is a challenge
  2. Yes it's a new feature. All OX series panels can't be retracted anymore as of version 1.X. You'll have to use the covered up versions if you want the retractable functionality. Edit: Ninja'ed !
  3. I have the same problem, a simple return to Kerbin from Minmus had to be redone about 6 times, kept crashing every few minutes. But of the 6 crashes I only have 2 error logs, the other 4 were "KSP.exe has stopped working and needs to be closed" errors. The only mods I have installed are: - KIS (version 1.1.4) - KAS (version 0.5.1) - Docking Alignment Indicator (version 6.2) - Kerbal Engineer Redux (version 1.0.16.6). Maybe the list above will help you troubleshoot your problem?
  4. Same thing happened to me a few times, unmodded, landed back on Kerbin, did an EVA and the second Valentina steps out and touches the surface poof! Some thing yesterday after installing some mods, landed on Minmus, did some KAS pipe attachment things with Bill, on the 3rd run back to the Cargo modules, Bill touches the surface poof! Nana-ified! Kraken sure knows how to find me know, but I won't give up!
  5. I used to play the old BARIS, Orbiter and Freelancer and started looking for more recent space simulators in Dec 2012. When I did a search for "Space program" this odd thing named Kerbal Space Program came up. Looked nice enough, tried the demo for 10 minutes and then bought the Alpha (0.18.2) I admit to having skipped a few versions, such as 0.23 and 0.90, but been playing it off and on for the past 2 years Very addictive.
  6. After scanning for a good deposit I usually bring down a mining/refining base. It has some Lf/Ox storage space, but usually only to land it. I use a seperate ship with various fuel tanks to fly between this base and an orbital refueling station. I find this easier then hauling the whole heavy rig up to orbit again and again. Not to mention the chance of losing my high yield mining spot This way I build a multipart interplanetary ship with only partially filled fuel tanks to save weight on launch from Kerbin. Fly the ship to Minmus to have it be refueled at the Orbital station before it sets off on its interplanetary journey I connect the mining base to the fuel ship using pipes from the KAS/KIS mods. Makes for easy fuel transfers and gives my Kerbals something to do. I always have trouble with complicated rover setups with docking ports on them....
  7. I just use a few small mods to enhance the game slightly: KAS/KIS - For building a simple fuel/energy transfer infrastructure for my surface bases (with pipes). Kerbal Engineer - for a more comprehensive dV and TWR readout for my rockets/ships in de VAB/SPH.
  8. Also, they changed the mass of the LV-N. It's heavier now (from 2.25t to 3t). So a simmilar setup pre-1.0 doesn't go as far as it used to.
  9. Hi there! Welcome to the forums. I'm one of those lurkers on the forum who usually just reads the posts. Perhaps I can help you? Apart from seeing the rocket, how do you try to land? Are you crashing in to the moon because you have too much vertical or horizontal velocity and you don't know how to reduce/kill it? Run out of fuel on your way down? A munar landing is a big hurdle to take after getting into orbit so it's not very unusual that you have problems with it. I racked up several hundred hours in KSP as well but with the coming of 1.0.2 I sort of had to learn how to build rockets again. I overestimated my fuel in my first munar landing as well. Jeb got down safely, but without enough fuel to get back into orbit, let alone back to Kerbin. Took me forever to redesign the launcher to get Valentina in a rescue craft to get Jeb
