It's a known and unexplainable\unfixed bug. It used to be delta wing parts colliding with the launchpad if you passed its horizontal line as far as 20km away from KSC. Appears to happen after a circularization. It can happen anywhere, even in space. I think it's linked with the bug that makes launchpad rockets with launch clamps materialize in orbit on launch. With 70km long clamps. It's a weird bug, but this seems to be just another iteration of it. Good to have hyperedit for these shenanigans.

Technically, the little guys we send to space should be Kermen/women. Kerman -> Kermen

Transfer science internally
Borsek replied to soulsource's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Searcj for the crew manifest mod, that enables you to transfer mor pr less anything within ships. Granted such a featire should be added to stock. -
I stopped using mechjeb for ascents as I find it easier to do simple and actual gravity turns. I still use the smart ass feature, but not ascent guidance. That said, values in the ascent curve can be tweaked so mechjeb works perfectly, but launching manually always leaves me with more dV. Launches are a lot easier now that you don't have to turn the rocket manually, just do 90deg angle at 100m/s and keep flying prograde for the rest of the ascent. Rockets flipping come from design errors and a too big AoA.

Jebediah learned that high speeds in low atmosphere result in what is now known as the kerbal-oven effect.

I like to make something similar to the interstellar/star wars mini hyperspace tug, bring my plane into orbit, and dock it onto a platform with LV-Ns, or for bigger planes, dock the LV-Ns onto the plane, then set course for laythe, of course. Bringing stuff into orbit is quite easy, but I tend to have less dV left now in 1.0 than with the kirby planes in 0.9.

INtakes not toggling?

If you are using mechjeb 'manage air intakes' might be the culprit, it's under utilities. -
Have the Dev's thought of a mobile version of KSP
Borsek replied to RW-1's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Maybe if it was shrunk to 2d, then the CPUs wouldn't melt off mobile devices/lag would be bearable. But 2-d removes a lot of possibilities (and adds a few). -
Honestly, going to 65km with a mostly intake plane was absolutely retarded, it's good that that was removed.

You will never please everyone, make something and get the people to figure it out, no matter how hard it is, people will do it. For pete's sake people found the magic boulder after all!

Venting the 1.0 launch
Borsek replied to r4pt0r's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
It's clear that everyone is posting their own opinion, we don't need to make the packaging nice if the content is ugly. Criticism is fine, but demanding some sort of personal apology is retarded and insulting to the devs for no good reason. IBTL for idiocy. -
Venting the 1.0 launch
Borsek replied to r4pt0r's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Y'all are wasting your time yapping on the forums with your butthurt and inflated senses of entitlement. Yes the game needs balancing, there's one or two bugs left in it, but 1.0 was a very decent launch, especially compared to some other games. Squad don't need to apologize for anything, and they owe no explanations, imho. You all need to either play the game more and waste time in the forums less or GTFO. The only thing I dislike about 1.0 is the amount of ridiculous pathetic whine it brought to the forums, where people whine about how the game changed and is now haaard like a bunch of frail old women, instead of posting what they managed to achieve in-game. Sad, grow some kerballs. -
Apparently it's on Minmus, and in three seperate locations, too. Also, you need to take its temperature once. Anyone else got funny procedural contract names/situations?
-
You forgot the Wut? option in the poll. Seriously, if I wanted to decipher things I'd go play tinfoilhat online - but feel free to make a mod or something, I'm sure some people will love it and figure it out no matter what and how hard it is. The reat will simply google the answers.

MechJeb: Cheating or not? The definitive thread/poll
Borsek replied to SpaceLaunchSystem's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
After about 100 hours flying ships by hand it gets boring, but the building of successful ships doesn't, so I fly mechjeb whenever I can, have flown waaay too much to keep doing it manually. Also it's a must-have for 200+ part launches, the lag makes maneuvering some craft unbearable if not impossible. -
Guys, I agree, spaceplanes are not viable anymore. I mean, look at that thing, it's huge and bulky, with a partcount above 300!
-
After 400+ h in-game, I can reinvent SSTOs, that makes it fun imho.
-
I threw this together in about 20 mins, Carries ca. 8t of mass to 180km orbit with fuel to spare, and I wasted about 200 dV to get to a 180k orbit, bout 200t on the runway. In any case, SSTOs are very much alive. Adapt and survive or regress and die, it's what kerbals have been doing since they crawled out of the primodial code-soup. And I did this without even going for efficiency or really trying.
-
What's with all the SSTO whining post 1.0? Yes, the atmosphere is no longer soup, there is no more Kirby airhogging (or should I say Kerby), but SSTOs still get to orbit, and if you engineer them correctly, they have plenty of dV and or fuel left when they reach it.
-
I see what you did there.

I meant that as a semi-sarcastic but not inflammatory comment on the females look like males comment. I have no idea whether or not such a mod exists, but I'm damn sure (taking into account the plethora of adult themed skyrim mods, for example) that it will be made. Rule 34b.

Weeklong Manually Jolting Warehouses?
-
Exploration of the sun's surface? Checking for air currents in Jool's atmosphere? Only the bravest kerbals may apply!
-
And then, someone made a mod that adds huge boobs to female kerbals. *facepalm*
