     You have to install some extensions, like blackhart.

  2.  I'd love if you could launch a rocket into orbit and carry out your mission, then replay the events without the GUI and worrying if your rocket is still prograde. 

    Of course, it would only last up to when you go back to the space center, but it could also help with troubleshooting problems with your rocket/plane without redoing the mission several times.

    When it overheats, it blows up.

    If it's not doing that I need a bit more details on what's happening.

    The LES does seem to cause a slightly higher drag than  a similar rocket without it, but it amounted to ~340m separation from its twin without the LES tower after a full 14400 tank / Rhino. That's less than 10m/s difference at the end of the first stage burn. In my test there were a few more parts on the rocket without the LES, so they weighed the exact same.

    The problem I was getting was when I did even the slightest of turns, the rocket would flip out. (only a 5 degree pitch over)

     Some parts (Mainly the escape tower and parachute dockingport) seem to have INSANE drag.
