  1. I do not have a craft file up, sorry. Thanks for the compliments!
  2. I did try without the foil at one point but although it fit better with the stock parts it killed the Apollo style vibe. I feel like this is may be a good balance of both.
  3. Yes, the license is included in the download file. I'm glad you guys like it! This is a very fun hobby for me. I don't want to post up a "list" of my planned projects as I know that tends to lead to false hopes and whatnot, but hopefully I'll have some new things up fairly regularly.
  4. Hello everyone! This is my first mod created for KSP, and the first mod for a PC game I've done in nearly four years. It's been a while! I wanted to release a few parts I've created for the MK1 sized lander can. I tried to make them as stock-alike as possible. If you download these parts, please give me feedback! I would love to hear what anyone thinks of them. Parts - MK1 Lander Fuel Tank A big fuel tank styled after the Apollo LEM's descent stage. There's a recess in the bottom to allow the engine to be mostly covered. The mission flag is also toggle-able. Dust Plume Deflector One of the things that I thought gives the LEM it's recognizable silhouette were these little pieces. They are found under the Aerodynamics tab and they add nothing to the craft except looks. I like them! Radially-Attachable Fuel Tank Contains as much fuel as a Round-8 tank but styled after an Oscar-B, this fuel tank was designed to hang on the MK1 lander can to help make it look more "Apollo." Could also be useful for probes or rovers, I would imagine. UPDATE (1/5/2015) I've also made a version of the fuel tank for the MK2 sized lander can (Rockomax sized.) I also added a line to the .CFG file for the Oscar-B Radial tank for FuelCrossfeed - on my game it wasn't working correctly (although the previous version *did* work when I initially tested it) MK2 Lander Fuel Tank A big fuel tank styled after the shape of the Apollo LEM's descent stage. There's a recess in the bottom to allow the engine to be partially covered. The mission flag is also toggle-able. 5. Hi everyone! I've created a little part pack to go with this mod. The small snack part gives you 10 snacks, the larger part gives you 30. They are found under the Utility tab. I love this mod, so I wanted to contribute somehow! Pic and link - Download
  6. Welp. I am releasing a "first draft" I guess. I'd like feedback on this part please! If you try it out, let me know what you think! I'm not too sure about the foil texture but as far as workability goes I think it accomplishes what I wanted it to - which is give an LEM flair to KSP landers, toggle a flag decal ala LEM, and hide most of the engine (I use the LV-909), leaving only the exhaust nozzle visible, which reduces the height on the lander. Hopefully that equals more stable landing. At any rate, this was very fun, a very good first "real" mod, and I hope someone out there likes it. Also to note - for my personal version I have the dust plume covers that the LEM had - but they mess up the collision mesh so although it looks nice, it ruins the modular ability of the surfaces. If anyone wants that version, send me a PM. Try me!
  7. Newest tweaking... Updated foil texture, and some minor things played with. Download The plume deflectors are separate models under "Aerodynamics" that aren't included yet as I'm still tweaking them. If you download the fuel tank, please give feedback! Thanks!
  8. Ahhhh thank you very much for pointing me to that thread. Looks like the holy grail for new modders. I think I'll just remove the monopropellant resource for now.
  9. Well I tweaked the Lander tank a little bit. Now it contains both monopropellant (30) and LF/O (50). The model has been tweaked a bit, with a recessed bottom to allow an engine to be mostly hidden inside it with only the exhaust sticking out, which gives it more of a "LEM" profile. I also changed up the texture a little bit to break up the visuals and updated the bump map to work. Currently trying to get the "toggle flag" option to work. Right now it works for full-sized flags but if the original flag has an alpha (like the default KSP one) I get a nasty black box on the flag decal. Also another issue I ran into is in the little preview-box where you select the part, my new part scales UP, I'm assuming until infinity as it passes the screen. I've included a few screenshots of that too. Anybody have any idea what that's from? And here's a screenshot of the weird scaling issue.
  10. This sounds like an interesting idea! I'll try to come up with something to participate. Side note - does anyone know how to get the mission flag to toggle on and off? I guess more specifically, where do I designate where the flag decal goes on the model?
  11. Thanks for the replies! As I stated above, I didn't want to include a download link just yet - I was hoping for some feedback and some help regarding a license to release them, as I see all the mods I have downloaded have some sort of "fair use" license. Also I was hoping I could get some help on the lander tank - I wanted to be able to toggle the mission flag on the front of it, but I'm not sure how that system works. Thanks for noticing the typo, evidently I've been misspelling their last names for a month!
  12. Hello everyone! This is my first mod for this game and my second post here. I'm relatively inexpeirenced with modding so I suppose this would be a WIP since A), I'm not sure if people will want to download these other than myself, I'm not sure where to find or get a "lisence" to release my parts, and C) two of my parts are for the Snacks! mod which I'm not sure is allowed. Anyways, I wanted to create a fuel tank for Landers that looks like the lower stage of the Lunar Lander, and I fell in love with the Snacks! mod so I wanted to create some storage part for snacks! Onto the parts! It doesn't *quite* jive well with the stock parts, and I can't seem to pinpoint why not. As I said this is my first ever mod for the game so I'm sure it's going to look a little... "off." But it does look neat under the MK1 lander can with legs and whatnot. Second and third! Small Snacks! Each part adds 10 snacks. The SnackPak! Each part adds 30 snacks. I wanted to make the snack parts work well with storage containers, as I use "6S Service Compartment Tubes" and occasionally "Universal Storage." So far I haven't run across anything terrible caused by my parts so I'm pretty happy. It was an interesting introduction to modding, and hopefully I can contribute more useful parts to this wonderful game. Any comments, questions, concerns, or tips, please post! Hopefully I didn't break any forum rules! Thanks!
  13. I can confirm this... I sent a manned satellite to Jool to orbit, my girlfriend insisted on picking "Joebald Kermin" because his courage was maxed out and stupidity was 0%. Let him orbit and do some other things, come back 254 days later in game time, courage is totally depleted. The feels! Poor Joebald. Guess it's time to send a station with other Kerbals to him.
