DevNotes: "something rather brilliant from RoverDude"
Adester replied to AbacusWizard's topic in KSP1 Discussion
where it landed? perhaps a aerobraking tool, that shows the estimated landing side? -
uh sorry, sometimes my brain reads very selective... i see 4-digit part numbers
-
Did you watch the video?
-
Thanks for the kind replies. sometimes the Kerbal disintegrates... to void this: - come from a 90km orbit - put your periapsis at 55km - to land at ksc the periapsis has to be about 1/6 orbit ahead to ksc - in the atmosphere ever point to radial
-
yes, i lied... it is a bit smaller than full size, but you can see a bigger one at the end of the video http://kerbalx.com/Adester/Mini-Shuttle-II wait until you reached 170m/s befor starting to turn. switch SAS to follow prograde when it can't hold the pitch anymore. don't use the last stage. instead enable RCS and activate action group 1. Then you can switch back the SAS to hold position and disable RCS.

Munar Multi-Purpose shuttle, 6000 Dv @ 63t 2.31 TWR

looks nice, but ksp tells me not stock... -
We are all murderers - how many Kerbals did you kill?
Adester replied to p8R's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I once threw many kerbals out of an ssto, while being suborbital, to show a friend how funny this game is... i feel terible about it now. I killed many kerbals by flying against mountains because i trusted the map screen. I once forgot to return the kerbals befor reentrying a station. I was watching a movie while warping into a planet with serveral kerbals. I suicide burned kerbals into Mun. But i can't remember killing some because of enineering errors... time to fix that -
1.0 hates me
Adester replied to FlyingPete's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
please don't blame ksp that easy. there could be issues with your memory. a virus? Modern PC's are very complex structures. nobody knows what could cause that, unless you do some time eating and complex bug searches. - - - Updated - - - He mentioned it chrashes on the loading screen. there must be more than that. -
or just change dead to available in the save file. if you search rooster in the file, jeb should be the first entry.

As of 1.0.2, do you think the engines are balanced?
Adester replied to Laie's topic in KSP1 Discussion
i think the devs did a very good job balancing them. there is a purpose for every engine. in my opinion the small enginges could be placed earlieer in carrier, but that could only be me... i mean, that is grumbling on a very high level -
Do you run missions in serial or more than one at a time?
Adester replied to Invader Jim's topic in KSP1 Discussion
In career mode i start the transfers and do other stuff instead of just timewarping, but within the Kerbin system i only do one thing at a time. When i play sanddbox there is ever only one ship doing something... thats how one unlucky Kerbal ended being over 50 years on eve befor rescued. -
What is the most glorious / favorite craft that you ever flew ?
Adester replied to Gaarst's topic in KSP1 Discussion
in .9 everything was possible. (don't want to wine, it's good that these things don't work anymore) -
Veteran players reminisce: What was your first Munar landing like?
Adester replied to Tex's topic in KSP1 Discussion
My first Mun landing was almost perfect and so boring. I was there. Landed on the Mun. Did some science and then... then? what to do on Mun? there was no spare fuel to visit other places, no rover, nothing to do. so much learning, so much time and so much effort for the 10 seconds of eva and crew reports? i love this game. -
Miners, miners, miners everywhere - Post your pics here
Adester replied to FlipNascar's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
how do you get this into orbit? -
Post your 1.0 Career mode workhorses
Adester replied to skepticon's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Kerbals are pretty expensiv in hard mode. but only every 10th one is a scienctist... It has 1k delta v once in orbit, that is more than enough to rendezvous with 4 pods in LKO. And even if no one of them is a scienctist, one can earn some money with it. -
uh more changes to the jets? Don't get me wrong, things need to be fixed and balanced. i had the same problem with minecraft. one is building something, that takes a lot of time... the good free time... and then an update destroys all your work. i don't know how to avoid that, espacialy balancing needs time. but my heart bleeds, when i have to decide to update or to invest in an outdated version. btw. a few days ago i saw a video of a jetfighter breaking sound barrier on sea level:

as someone mentioned erlier: alpha and beta doesn't apply to ksp. alpha: only devs and paid tester have access the software beta: a fix group of selected testers have access the software for free or at low price. you just can't use this definition on early access games. the same for the phrase 1.0. there are some things that come with early access games from indy devs: - the devs get money to live while developing - the amount of needed paid tester is reduced (perhaps even to 0) - in some cases the devs will develop a strong need to deliver a good product, because there are people that accept the first two points and believe in the devs ksp and minecraft are two positive examples of this concept, but there are negative ones, too. What i think "1.0" means is, that the devs think or want to say: a status quo is about to reach. not today, but i dont belive that there are 4 more years of developing.

this is no hype train... it can go to orbit with small payload of 2-3 ton.

Heart: The ladies will love it. Brain: This is not true and you know that! Stomach: Don't even try, he is not listening. Heart: This is great! This is great! Action Groups: 1 - toggle 2x atomic rocket engines 2 - toggle 4x jet engines 3 - toggle hover jet engine for the locomotive (you will need it to take off and landing) 4 - parachute 5 - parachute 8 - toggle left rocket engine (push the back to the right) 9 - toggle bottom rocket engine (push the back up) 0 - toggle right rocket engine (push the back to the left) ~550 Parts http://www.filedropper.com/ssto-train Hello, and welcome the worst flying thing i have ever build. I won't even try to make something like a owners manual. It's not my fault, if you are mad enough to "fly" this. Some addtitional Heavy metal: It is inspired by "Brutus".
