  1. Right click on the chute, it will show you the options. I think there might be some presets available, but I use RealChutes so I'm a terrible source. Yet here I am answering...
  2. Yeah, it'd be a shame to see the forum riddled with immature, hysterical posts or anything like that.
  3. Honestly I think the most obvious solution is being ignored. Decide which Kerbal gets to live and blow the others out the airlock. Then you send a rescue.
  4. I would bet my last dollar on the fact that no matter how they presented it, some would have lost their minds. Of course, it's hard to say. This is a fickle and strange community we have here. Announce new aerodynamic model, nobody minds. Re-purpose the round-8, the world comes apart at the seams.
  5. If you pre-deployed the chutes, they got torn off/burnt off during re-entry. Sometime below 10k, I'd imagine, though that's pretty high for my tastes. You could have entered the atmosphere sideways from Minmus and not had too much entry heat for the mk1 capsule. (That might be a slight exaggeration.)
  6. You mean to say the only reason customers who purchased very early on still play are the mods. It's popularity (new customers) very likely has little to do with mods. From a business stand-point, the new customers (and as many as you can get) are where the money is. I don't believe the Devs are necessarily looking at it this way, but they work for somebody, who works for somebody else, and at some point along this chain you're going to hit someone who is all about the money. Of course there's always the new-fangled "DLC" scams to get money out of older players too, but let's not go there. This seems to have rambled a bit from whatever point I was making, but I've typed it all now, so there you have it.
  7. Interstellar travel, no 32-bit memory limits, and perhaps some actual Kerbals on Kerbin? Seems odd having the entire population consist of KSC staff.
  8. Allegedly Sony announced at E3 that KSP will be coming to the PS4 in 2016, but that's an anecdote of an anecdote.
  9. That is some Fantastically Assiduous Rover Technology you have there.
  10. I too consider Mechjeb a valuable learning device. From it, I learned everything except basic orbit and interplanetary transfers. It's not too terribly complicated unless you want to start tweaking it's efficiency. It's also a tremendously useful tool of convenience and can do quite a lot without you even paying attention (if you're into that). You tell it what you want to do, it orients the ship, warps you to the execution point, and executes the maneuver then shuts off. On rare instances, it will sometimes activate HAL 9000 mode, so watch for that. And fair warning: You will encounter tons of people who scoff and mock Mechjeb, saying how terrible it is to use it, do it yourself... then they'll promptly direct you to watch a video of somebody else doing something so you can copy that person instead. It's silly.
  11. Good job on the PS4 port Roverdude! That's probably not it.
  12. Thanks Max, for taking the time to come on here and share some stuff with us. We really appreciate all the hard work that goes into this game! That's what he really wanted to say.
  13. You say "progressed", as in past tense, does that mean the Unity 5 upgrade is complete? Because that would be awesome.
  14. Oh dear. At least they have some experience with rockets.
  15. Just the thought of trying to assemble a rocket with thumb sticks makes me shudder. At least flying should be (theoretically) easier.
  16. I am indeed. edit: And I notice in the heatsink picture, it appears to be happening to the edges of the mounting plates, but that's actually a black line in the texture.
  17. For some reason, I have two models that are being bisected horizontally by shadow in certain orientations: But if I turn them on their side, the shading is uniformly shadowed: Any idea what bizarro-world magic is doing this? Do I need to use a lightmap or something? I've not encountered this on any of the larger stuff I have (and I even made one of them from scratch):
  18. You got me there, my citation wouldn't be "rules." I am a perpetual rule-breaker in need of removal then, I suppose. Respect is earned and never given by default, though I suspect it is a semantic argument. If you think you have cause, report the posts. My opinion stands.
  19. Incorrect. Everyone is entitled to civility. Had I personally attacked you, I would have broken this rule. I disagree with your assessment of the discussion taking place. A perfectly intelligent person can deliver a sophomoric argument. It's not a personal insult, unless you choose to take it as such. Had I not been engaged, I would have left it at the single post, and here I am being further engaged.
  20. I don't see what makes it a hard issue. Even the inevitable "But what is sentience?" argument does not actually address the topic and is just arguing over the definition of a word. That too is not a particularly hard topic, the only thing that makes it a difficult discussion is that it becomes an argument over opinions rather than actual definition. Eventually someone tries to stretch the meaning of the word to encompass so much that the word itself becomes irrelevant. The spirit of the question remains, regardless of the rest, and the answer doesn't change; No. And sure, everyone is entitled to some mutual mental massaging. I am also entitled to think it's ridiculous.
  21. There's only one topic here. Plants are not sentient. The rest is just a gaggle of sophomoric arguments attempting to pretend it's some grand important issue.
