  1. As of right now in my Career save, I've got Jeb on his way to the Mun to finally get around to exploring the darn thing.
  2. When you're just starting Career Mode and doing the Altitude Record contracts, you build a rocket that's just a pod, a half-full SRB, and a parachute, and you forget to put the SRB in a different stage as the parachute.
  3. It's nice they're making bigger wings and landing gear for 1.0, but I also think they need to make bigger intakes and air-breathing engines too. Seriously, I don't want to have to strap on 12 Turbojets (which are arguably overpowered to begin with) just to get a Mk3 aircraft off the ground.
  4. If I had to guess, I'd say you're getting an orbital velocity because of what mode your speedometer is in. The way you have it right now, it's likely taking Minmus's rotation into account, and giving you an orbital velocity. Just click on the speedometer so it says Surface, and that should make it say you're not moving anymore.
  5. I've never really built a proper space station in KSP, so I honestly don't know what I should be putting on it and what would be unnecessary, particularly since I want to avoid having too many parts and suffering FPS drops whenever I use the thing. Any chance you guys could give me tips? I know for certain that I want to have this space station serve as a sort of hub for all missions. I plan on having a SSTO Spaceplane transport Kerbals to and from the station, and have a couple other ships docked there to perform whatever other missions I need done, refueling in-between their missions. As for what to put on the Space Station, I'm not entirely certain. I'll probably want fuel tanks, monopropellant tanks, and solar panels just to replenish resources for spacecraft. I'll probably also want a Cupola Module and some sort of communication device simply for aesthetics. I'll also probably want some Hitchhiker Storage Containers just to store Kerbals. Beyond that I'm rather lost as to what I want to stick on the station. Do I want a Mobile Processing Lab on it? Would I want some Nuke engines in order to perform orbital corrections? Would I want RCS Thrusters and SAS Parts? Anything else I would want on the station? Then there's the matter of how high of an orbit to put the station. I'm guessing I'll want to stick it slightly above 120km just so I can use 100x Time Warp, but would I want to stick it up even higher? On one hand, a higher orbit would mean I'd need less DeltaV to get spacecrafts to anywhere but Kerbin, but it would also mean I'd need more DeltaV to get Kerbals to and from Kerbin. What do you guys think about this? And as a final question, what do you guys tend to do with lighting on your space stations? No lighting? Enough to let you just see docking ports when on the dark side of Kerbin? Or so much the thing is lit up like a bonfire? I really do appreciate any advice you guys are able to give me.
  6. I honestly don't care when I launch. To me it feels unnecessary to waste IG time doing absolutely nothing when I could be exploring the stars, or at least getting a probe on a path to Laythe or something. Now, if I was launching an unmanned probe that relied on solar power to keep working, I may specifically launch at dawn just so I can have the electrical power to get into a stable orbit before it drops back down to the surface.
  7. *Insert Generic Post about how I'm a Newbie here* In all seriousness though, I found out this site was here, and considering how in to KSP I've gotten recently, I figured I may as well join, rather than lurking and whatnot. So... here I am now to post about who-knows-what regarding KSP!
  8. I'm probably more of an Engineer than a Pilot, if my willingness to let MechJeb do the flying for me is any indication.
  9. Here's a flag I whipped real quick up based on the flag of the United Federation of Nations from Code Geass:
