  1. I've got my own question. How well do shielded docking ports work with the new re-entry heating? Do they explode like regular docking ports will, or do they tolerate heat better?
  2. Since bare minimum Delta-V to reach a 70x70 Kerbin orbit is 3200 m/s, and you would be moving at 1000 m/s already, the amount of Delta-V you'd need would be about 2200 more. Granted, I don't know how atmospheric drag would factor into it, and you'd probably want a higher orbit than 70x70, so more would be better, I imagine.
  3. I'm literally bashing my head against my desk trying to figure out why this rocket refuses to fly straight, even after I put fins on it. The instant it drifts a single degree away from the prograde marker as it approaches Mach 1, it'll just flip wildly! Just to note: There are fuel pumps leading from those outer tanks to the center one. And before you ask, no, I don't have fairings. I'm too early in Career to have unlocked those yet.
  4. The only problem I have with 1.0 SSTO's is that I have no idea what the proper accent profile is now. All I've managed to do so far is accidentally make a Mk2 SSTO fly too fast at around 15 km, burn up my canards and lose pitch control, and then eventually blow up the cockpit.
  5. I flew her in a Mk2 SSTO I was trying to design, but I forgot to keep my speed in check and made the cockpit explode...
  6. This leads me to believe it's something that would benefit first-time players. What that would be is beyond me, however. It's been far too long since I first played the game!
  7. Okay, screw clouds, parachutes, and an altimeter. This has to be a thing!
  8. I'm skeptic about clouds being added. If only because it seems like too obvious of a feature for HarvesteR to not elaborate on right away. Assuming it's not clouds, I suppose I'll be hoping for proper parachutes myself.
  9. I nominate Danny2462 and his video, for "Best Comedy Video".
  10. While I'm certainly not happy with how the fairings separate based on that single image we have, I'm still happy we're getting fairings to begin with. In all honesty, I probably could live with fairings separating like that (I could always mentally justify it that's how Kerbals do things), but it would be nice if they separated like real life fairings, too. Here's to hoping the Devs clarify the issue in the next Dev Notes!
  11. One of the Devs seems to have commented on this issue in the Squadcast Summary thread. They first commented on how Fairing debris would work. As for if Fairings would split into a bunch of pieces like they currently do:
  12. I'll support this, sure. If only for things to look nicer and more polished as the game leaves Early Access.
  13. As long as it's possible to re-enter with a Spaceplane and wind up somewhere near KSP in one piece without too much difficulty, I'll be happy.
  14. Any chance you could post pics of your outpost? It might help if we're able to see what you're trying to stabilize.
  15. I've gotten contracts just like that with mostly-stock KSP, so you're not the only one. Could just be a bug in how contracts spawn.
  16. Apparently there was a national holiday in Mexico, which was why Squad was closed for today.
  17. EVERYTHING! Okay, fine, I'm mainly looking forward to the new aerodynamics, landing gear, and wings. Maybe I'll finally be able to build a Mk3 SSTO that can lift a Jumbo-64 tank into LEO and not have to use a 70 degree AoA to do it!
  18. As a totally legit Mod, I shall smite thee for your insolence caused by you leaking these highly-sensitive details! Uh... I mean... I would... if I actually had a Ban Hammah to use...
  19. Obviously the Staff saw just how awesome of a member I am with my limited number of posts and rep, and decided to give me full mod powers! *Insert Evil Laughter Here*
  20. On the off-chance you still need help, 5th Horseman made a couple of videos that give excellent advice on doing satellite contracts within Kerbin's SOI. In your case, he details a Kolynia orbit in the second half of the second video there, but I'd watch both videos completely just because of how helpful they can be.
  21. Excluding the upcoming changes in 1.0, what would make the game "perfect" for me would simply be a stable 64-bit version and additional planets and moons to be analogues for the rest of the IRL Solar System.
  22. Personally, I think you guys should focus on the Aero overhaul, bugfixing, and balance. My main reasoning for this is that since this is going to be 1.0, reviewers are going to treat it as a finished product. If the update's buggy or unbalanced, it's bound to draw criticism from reviewers and drive away potential newcomers to the game. Better to get a nice and polished product out there now when it's going to matter the most that's it's bug-free. Then you can use the future updates to focus on adding cool new things or converting to Unity 5. This is all my opinion, of course.
