I feel like there's a 90% chance that you were reacting to the show as intended. A lot of reality TV seems intended for people to laugh at the dumb decisions of the people on the show.

Slow rotation doesn't seem that complex to me, especially in 1/6th gravity. Another option would be to use something like an inverted cone covered in mirrors so light was always reflected down onto stationary solar panels. Something like that, or vertical greenhouses, would be required for food anyway, since plants require so much energy. I think we can all agree on that.

What have you been playing recently? (Other than KSP)

Rimworld? A bit more management focused, but definitely has a tech tree and survival elements. Satisfactory is a game that's heavily inspired by Factorio, with a bit of Subnautica's focus on exploration. At some point in the future it will have a full story. It's on the Epic games store for the next 6 months. Mount and Blade: Warband doesn't have a traditional tech tree, but it has progression a lot like that. I haven't had time to really get into it yet, but it does have a demo. -

@ARS I think I found a better match for the first plane: The Kawasaki Ki-61. The Hurricane's exhaust and canopy don't match as well as this one. EDIT: To narrow this down even further, this appears to be the Ki-61-I Hei As opposed to the Ki-61-II Kai: Note the small windows at the bottom front of the canopy. -

It's a big air force: I just copied that photo from wikipedia without noticing, but it's from the Philippine Air Force. -

Suggestion: This sentence: "Immediately after Orion’s systems checked out and orbital inclinations aligned, Falcon Heavy would launch expendable, carrying an unmanned Dragon 2, into the same orbit." Might read better as: "Immediately after Orion’s systems checked out and orbital inclinations aligned, Falcon Heavy would launch in an expendable configuration, carrying an unmanned Dragon 2 into the same orbit." Other than that, the only potential issue I caught was the one @Ultimate Steve already mentioned, that the Dragon 2 docking port might not work. However, it would still be relatively cheap to develop a docking port with autonomous rendezvous as a FH payload. -

@Bill Kerman and @Bob Kerman are both KSC staff. So are @Jebediah Kerman, @Valentina Kerman, @Wernher von Kerman and @Gene Kerman. They're novelty accounts created by SQUAD. They've only replied to the guess who will reply next thread. Help! Help! I'm being censored! -
