1. Alright, I've figured out a temporary workaround that people can use for changing the modes for controls since it doesn't appear to work changing them in game. Open your settings.cfg Find the control that you want to adjust the operational modes for. Change the number for modemask in accordance with the table. Save your setting.cfg. Then when you enter the controls panel in game, you should see the modes reflecting the desired changes. -1 is the default with all modes enabled

mode mask staging docking translation docking rotation

-1 x x x

1 x

2 x

3 x

4 x x

5 x x

6 x x

7 x x x

2. I'm having a problem when trying to adjust the settings for the Axis Bindings. When you go in to set the bindings, you can the deselect different modes "staging", "docking rotation", and "docking translation", then click accept for that binding to return to the main settings window. Then if I click on the binding again, all of the modes have been turned back on. I haven't been able to make the mode selectors work on any of the axis bindings. 3. I was having the same problem repeatedly (same system setup). I tried exiting KSP, deleting the settings.cfg (after making a backup copy) and then restarting the game. As I anticipated, the game automatically made a new setting.cfg file since it was missing, but now it hasn't reset the .cfg on startup since then. I think there may be something wrong with the initial one in the download and making a fresh .cfg resolves that problem.
