  1. Do you want to get rid of those pesky doors? Did Jeb wear out your cargo bays? Is Bill demanding somewhere to sit back and relax?

Well thanks to Jeb's clumsiness some cargo bays have turned up at the VAB with broken hinges. Fortunately, Verner Von Kerman took these broken parts and created the hollow hull section!

Let's face it, it's just an inoperable cargo bay.

But who doesn't love to have a place to fill with explosives for... "science-y stuff".

    Features:

    - Mk2 Cargo Hull Sections (Small and Large)

    - Mk3 Cargo Hull Sections (Short, Medium and Long)

Service Hull Sections (1.25m and 2.5m) removed for new release.

If you still want them install this release over the previous one.

    Changelog:

    > v1.15 (24/06/15)

    - Tweaked the part files to work properly with update 1.0.3

    - Added override cubes from Mk3 Cargo Bay

    - Specified new breaking forces for parts

    > v1.13 (14/06/15)

    - New Textures for the Mk3 and Mk2 hull sections

    > v1.12 (13/06/15)

    - New Textures

    > v1.0 (12/06/15)

    - Initial Release

    - 3 basic parts with various sizes

    To be developed:

    - Better textures

    - Custom models (if someone wants to collab and make these that'd be great as I suck with models atm)

    - (Possibly) longer 1.25m/2.5m/3.75m versions, however I would need custom models which I don't have experience with making.

    - Thus, custom models and rethought part files for the Mk2/Mk3 parts would also be a possibility.

    Known Issues:

    - Mk3 closing animation plays on launch

    - 1.25m and 2.5m Service Hulls start open and cannot be closed (Removed for v1.15)

This mod includes modified versions of stock part files and textures, as well as stock models.

Thanks to PorkJet, RoverDude and Squad for the originals.

Note: This mod is in no way affiliated with Alskari's Hollow Structures & Hulls mod.

Please delete your CargoHullExperimental folder in your GameData before installing a new version.

    Download: v1.15 Dropbox for 1.0.4

    Legacy:

    - v1.13 - Dropbox

    - v1.12 - Dropbox

    - v1.0 - Dropbox

If you would prefer the old Mk3 Cargo Hull texture (more similar to the stock texture), copy the CargoHullExperimental folder under 'Alternate Textures' into your GameData after you have installed the mod.

    Installation:

    1. Merge the GameData folder provided in the download with the GameData folder in your KSP directory.

    2. Play that awesome game called Kerbal Space Program.

  2. I also have been looking for parts like this. Shouldn't be too hard to make, as all you really need is a cargo bay that doesn't open. In fact, I think you could clone a stock cargo bay and just disable the modules it uses to open/close. I might have a look at doing this but I don't know if I'll be able to as my modding experience consists of creating a very basic and non-functional life support system (then again, it's easier to kill kerbals with explosions than code).

Edit: I was able to make it, I'll post a thread and a link sometime today.

  3. I suggest putting pictures on the original post if you can, it'd help people to know what it looks like before downloading it.

I'd also suggest adding a 'known bugs' section on the original post as well.

This seems like a really cool mod, I'll have to check it out.

Edit: It seems you do have a picture there but it isn't loading.

  4. You could also use the TextureReplacer mod, or if you want a black skybox while on the ground or in the atmosphere, but don't mind a few stars when you are in orbit, you could use Distant Object Enhancement - which allows you to see planets and ships from a distance as well as making the skybox mostly black when looking towards the sun or the reflected light of a planet (and thus when on the surface of one as well).

  5. Hello modding community!

I doubt there is a mod that already does this, but I would like to see some docking ports that, immediately after docking (or via right click), rotate backwards in a screw-like fashion, as though they are screwing the new module into the initial spacecraft/station. It's not entirely necessary, but I thought it would look great on large interplanetary cruisers and such.

I have no modding experience of my own (besides a terrible attempt at making my own command pod), but I think the screw animation could use rotation mechanics like those in Infernal Robotics (rotating the docking port (and thus the attached craft) while also retracting the whole assembly back into the station). If anyone wants to have a go at making something unique like this then that'd be awesome :)

  6. I saw a comment somewhere that suggested that the Boat Parts mod by InfiniteDice produced a dark blue window tint when underwater, but I can't seem to find any reference of it on the forum page. If it does have this ability, I wonder if it can be easily made into a standalone mod?

This is not a request for a submarine mod persay, but a mod which changes the underwater view for all pods. However if a submarine mod included that feature...

  7. Hello modding community,

Does anyone know if it's possible to change the view you get underwater in IVA through the use of a mod? If not, would anyone be willing to create one (if its even possible)? It's never really bothered me over the years, but when you land a capsule in water and go into IVA, and when the window falls underwater, the ocean texture disappears. I've never thought it would be possible to add some kind of underwater texture on the windows, but who knows what can be done with the mods available today.

[Note: It doesn't matter if it's compatible with 1.0.2 or not, I would just like to know if one exists somewhere]

    Thanks!
