I can see the size/class when the asteroid is still an unknown object but when I click track and add to tracking center, I only get the name, altitude and velocity readings with no size readings. This makes it hard for me to know what kind of craft to launch to intercept it.
are afterburners just full throttle? or is it a separate mode? I usually skim low to get the most velocity out of the airbreathing engines until I get to 700m/s then pull sharply up as everyone passes out from g's then I have enough velocity to carry me up until I get to closed cycle altitude. When I try to go high with air burning rapiers, I usually get up to 15000m but with no velocity and when the engines choke out, its hard to get up to closed cycle altitude.
did some more spaceplane tinkering. Does anyone know how to get a normal space plane to go to the mun single staged? I can do up to 120k circular kerbin orbit but not much further
I have to figure out how to communicate with all of my probes with tiny antennaes that I launched before the 1.2 new communications update and are en route to jool, eve, etc. I wish I could just add the big antennaes to them now but I guess hindsight is 20-20. I guess I will just have to launch a ton of relays but I already missed the launch windows and I dont want my probes to crash or miss their encounters if I can't get relays out in time.
