Are Kerbin Circumnavigation challenges still a thing?
Pandemic replied to Pandemic's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Yeah, from what I remember there was one for most circumnavigations around kerbin below 10,000m, fastest single lap, etc. I like the idea of a stock craft challenge. I'd need someone to do up some award images though... unless you want a jenky paint image. -
Are Kerbin Circumnavigation challenges still a thing?
Pandemic replied to Pandemic's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
I was around before rep was a thing. -
I use pilot assistant to take off at a 5 degree slope, maintain speed and heading, etc. I try to get somewhat exact with takeoffs but never obsessively.
-
Yeah I was a fan of pilot assistant - hoping to try it out tomorrow. Simplicity is king and using atmospheric autopilot is very complex. Even take-off is near impossible if you want a nice gentile climb.
-
Sorry about the wrong section. I went back in my posts and I think it was Pilot Assistant (https://github.com/Crzyrndm/Pilot-Assistant/releases) I've been playing with Atmosphere Autopilot but I'm not a fan. It seems overly complicated compared to Pilot Assistant.
-
I remember years and years ago we had competitions for who can design a plane that can cruise at less than 10,000m and do 1,2,3+ circumnavigations around kerbin. At this time there was a super simple autopilot that would lock direction, pitch, speed, etc. It wasn't atmosphere autopilot or whatever. Anyone remember the name? I can't find it.

[1.2.2] Kerbal Aircraft Expansion (KAX) v2.6.4
Pandemic replied to keptin's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I'd love to be able to use this in 1.3. Any plans on updating KAX? -
Kerbal Space Program update 1.3 Grand Discussion thread.
Pandemic replied to UomoCapra's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I have a love/hate relationship with updates. I enjoy seeing new features but I really enjoy my mods. With each update I find it takes mods around 2-4 weeks to catch up. There should be a better way. How many mods have been lost purely due to a developer not having time or motivation to update their mod again?- 465 replies

I didn't change anything in memgraph - didn't know it was possible, lol. I'm running cinebench R15. First off, it says this is a 4 core, 8 thread CPU at 4.02ghz. Single core gives it a score of 98. A 2.7ghz i7-3840QM has a score of 101.
-
How do you figure out per core performance? I'd be curious how my cpu stacked up to an intel via a benchmark test.
-
So how does one figure out the single core clock speed? I've currently got it set to 3ghz... so upping it back to 4ghz will be fine and should help. I thought 4ghz was on each core...
-
Thought 4ghz.. I have no idea: http://products.amd.com/en-us/search/CPU/AMD-FX-Series/AMD-FX-8-Core-Black-Edition/FX-8350/92
-
Single core, eh? I can try that. I can also try bumping the clock up to 4ghz. It's stock 4ghz but I underclocked to try to reduce heat. Not that heat's an issue...

Few mods - 1.3 crashes
Pandemic replied to Pandemic's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
Removed MJ, crash Removed KAX, firespitter and pilot assistant, worked fine added pilot assistant, worked fine. So this is my only mod for now. excrementsty. -
Good idea. I was thinking about deleting and redownloading all of KSP. I've had it for a while and maybe something is borked, not sure. Trying it now with zero mods.

OS: Windows 10 (10.0.0) 64bit CPU: AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight-Core Processor (8) RAM: 16349 GPU: AMD Radeon HD 5800 Series (1010MB) SM: 30 (Direct3D 9.0c [aticfx64.dll 8.17.10.1404])

I've got mechjeb 2, KAX, pilot assistant, and firespitter right now and something is crashing the game. Where can I submit the crash report?
-
Removed a few mods and I've noticed a lot fewer spikes. The problem now is the stutter occurs but there is no spike on the memgraph...
-
I've got 16 gb ram in this machine. KSP is using 1.5 along with the system... say 2gb, I should have at least 4 left that's not being used. Just looked at task manager and total used memory is 5.7gb out of 16gb. KSP is using 3,441.8MB...
-
yes I am. Memgraph is currently showing a max of 1538MB. I'm getting pretty major spikes about every other tic.
-
There's no correlation between stuttering and the red lines in the memory graph. Having said that, it looks like KSP has X amount of memory and I'm using all of it. Is there a way to increase the amount of memory it can use?

[1.2.2] Kerbal Aircraft Expansion (KAX) v2.6.4
Pandemic replied to keptin's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Tried searching with no luck. Not a major issue but it's annoying. 1). when I have a prop engine from KAX, as soon as I hit the air strip, the engine noise is going even when the engine is off. 2). In the parts menu when building a plane, the propeller portion of the engine is black with yellow blade tips... like an inverse of what it should be. I tried updating, removing, and readding KAX - same issue Ideas? Thanks -
