1. That's awesome! One of these days I'll have to try my hand at subs.. Are the ore tanks calibrated so the sub's the same density as the water?
2.
This is awesome, any chance you're going to be posting a craft file?
Thank you! The carrier in its current state has no engines or means of control - it's just a prop for Inigma's contract pack. I'll be retrofitting it to be usuable as an actual carrier, which will be posted in a separate thread. For now, this version will only be a part of the pack.
3. After a few hours of work, here we are: Presenting the Inigma-Class Aircraft Carrier: It currently has 288 parts, so a little on the high side but I haven't noticed any drop in performance when landing on it (I'm playing on a macbook pro). The deck is over 100 meters long; I was able to land a stock Gull seaplane on it using only about half the deck with a makeshift arrestor hook. The ship is based loosely off the American Kitty Hawk-Class Carriers, and includes runway and deck lights for night landings. Hope it's useful for what you need, if the part count is too high, let me know and I'll try to slim it down. Cheers! -Rix Killian
4. Try this, sounds like what you're talking about - Excelsior Sports Rover
5. Fantastic job! I love the tow truck, it has a very functional look to it.
6. This was the first picture that came up on Google Images: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/12/Sopwith_F-1_Camel_USAF.jpg The wing and cockpit placement are very clear. I think you have a good start, the wing placement should be a really easy fix. You might also want to look again at the shape and chord of the wings: http://www.aviastar.org/pictures/england/sopwith_camel.gif
7. Some old fashioned automobile technology! These are both part of my WWII Replica Project (See signature)
8. Thank you! Sorry I've been so inactive the past month - Senior year started and I've been all caught up with that. Right now I have a stockpile of updated planes to upload (With proper control surfaces and tweaked body shapes), along with a few new planes, including the Avenger, P-36 Hawk, and A6M Zero. I'll try to upload these within the next week. I'll start the Spitfire as soon as I can - that'll be the next upload after these - and I'll look into the Mustang. Thanks for keeping interest! Btw: I've started painting all the planes I build - should I upload both variants of each plane painted, or just the BDArmory version? (If you don't have Kerbpaint, the painted craft will still work with your game, it just loses the color)
9. Here's one, a replica of the Cleveland Class Light Cruiser from my WWII Replica Project:
10. Really nice, the use of radiators as curved body panels is really clever and works great here (I might have to borrow that... ) The wings look a little too wide at the roots, but other than that you nailed the shape. Bravo! Actually, the airbrakes retain any function driven by the brakes action group, from what I've experienced. What I usually do is set the brakes action group to retract all the airbrakes instead of toggle, and that essentially removes the issue.
11. Awesome! Super clean lines, which is often hard to get when you're building the body. Nice job!
12. Here's one! The Curtiss F9C Sparrowhawk way back from the interwar period. This is from my WW2 replica project (See signature)
13. Nice job! It flies excellently for how big it is (it needs about half pitch trim however). Regarding the shape, the cockpit seems to be slightly off center, and the tailplane could do with a reduction in size (it's too fat). Otherwise, it looks and flies great! I'll be hard pressed to beat this one
14. Very nice! The grill design works well with this.
15. Brilliant! I was planning on doing something like that myself
16. Using the brilliant Kerbal Konstructs, I've been modeling and importing terrain to use as bases and testing routes for my craft. One of which, a cliffside road: Maybe I'll release some once I get better at this.. Pro Tip: Don't drive close to the edge
17. I didn't take any; the old avenger is so undersized that it looked like it was carrying a beach ball. I'll definitely post pictures of the new Avenger once I get farther on it!
18. Do you mean pitching and rolling the turret? Or running it while on it's side? I've tested both and it runs well and doesn't jump with either.
19. Just did a test with the old undersized Avenger I had made, and although it was far too big, it worked like a charm. It does have a slight issue while the plane is accelerating; the turret is pushed against the back and turns a little rough, but that shouldn't be hard to iron out, especially once it's installed in a proper sized fuselage.
20. Reaction wheel, attached to a cubic and then a decoupler, surrounded by cubics. Light, compact, and efficient! Ah yes, neither do I but unfortunately if I put the seat any lower it runs into the bearing and throws the turret off. As of now I can't find any workarounds, as making the whole assembly taller means it wouldn't fit in the fuselage. - - - Updated - - - I think I made a weaponized pogo stick...
21. Quick update on the current progressions: I built a mini turret! It's small enough to fit within the fuselage of the TBF Avenger, while still turning and staying in place. I have yet to make it jump the bearing. This model has rotational limiters in place which currently allow 160 degrees of rotation (to avoid the cockpit), but can be adjusted to increase or decrease it's range.
