    Curious George
  1. I get this "semi-lucid" thing you describe; I realize I am dreaming but my brain is just like "Oh this is completely normal" and I never attempt to change anything. I only realize this after I wake up so its almost as if I have less intelligence while dreaming. There was one dream though where a cloth was going down my throat and I yelled "GET OUT" and it worked briefly before waking me up.
  2. Someone mentioned Rise of Nations? (I loved that game) Apparently it was used in a psychological study. http://phys.org/news/2008-12-strategic-video-game-critical-cognitive.html HA! All my years of conquering the world has increased my cognitive abilities! Also I don't think Janes Fleet Command was mentioned; that was another good one.
  3. Back in high school I used to see a lot of apathy towards space and a lot of times teachers would just gloss over the space race very briefly. However there was an aviation history class I took where the professor (knowing that I was interested in space) actually asked me some questions about Apollo. In general though I found it more advantageous just to be silent when space related things came up in class, especially when the teacher and class are not interested. It was also kind of funny because at lunch break the few who knew I was interested in space would often come over and ask me what the teacher got wrong!
  4. Stephen Baxter has a lot of good ones like Voyage, Titan and Moonseed.
  5. I once made a throwing spear tipped with a shell fragment from the beach. It obviously was not designed to maim but I wanted to practice throwing spears and the slate tipped ones I made didn't really hold up to punishment. Since I didn't want to bore into any of the pine trees nearby I had to use a glue instead of the stone age method of pine sap. I also tried to make an atlatl for it but it didn't really work.
  6. Perhaps something more atmospheric for me https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SqfI3PtF5ao
  7. I have had two episodes of sleep paralysis and I must admit that did not see any demons; it was very strange because I could use my neck muscles and my shoulder's as well but not the rest of my body. Although I was scared in my first experience (and it didn't last long) the second time I relaxed a bit and I noticed that the feeling that you get in your head when it happens is actually really interesting since you feel groggy but also wide awake at the same time. Also the second time it happened I remembered reading somewhere that if you hold your breath you will wake up quickly and indeed that is what happened.
