Maybe a new form factor for spaceplanes? I was thinking something like a more aerodynamic looking 1.25 meter form factor, like if someone stretched the sides slightly and flattened it out. -
Has anyone else suggested making this a standalone application so it doesn't have to deal with KSP's ram limits itself? If not, could be a good idea.

Nope. Still can't even get to the Mun without either a truckload of D/V or MechJeb.
