Hello all. This may be kind of morbid but go with me. One of the things about the Challenger accident that always caught my "interest" was the engineering aspect of what happened and the mechanics of the orbiter breakup. I came across the telemetry data of that flight that went into detail about everything that happened from T-2 minutes until loss of telemetry. Things such as engine gimballs and computers voting about what to do. I'm not looking for anything that detailed but it would be interesting to go back after your flight and see all of the imputs done by the pilot and SAS and stuff like that. I would love to see axial tilt but I know that's been discussed over and over again and probably won't happen. I know there is a mod that tracks flights but I have never tried to use it yet but I believe it can be used as a replay camera. That's something I would like as well. One idea I came up with (again there may be a mod for this that I haven't seen yet so I apologize if I'm beating a dead horse) may add some depth and sense of urgency to contracts. As we all know there is time limits to complete contracts. If you add a system where it takes time to build a vehicle and you're running low on time to complete a contract you can "rush" the launch but run the risk of losing your vehicle and crew due to a random failure. These are some things I personally would like to see. They would probably just annoy other players. I also avoided saying "this shouldn't be hard to implement" because it's never easy to add stuff. Something like axial tilt seems easy to do (how hard is it to tilt a planet?) but actually would require rewriting almost everything. Anyway, what do you guys think?

I don't have one but if I remember correctly I can review the data and/or reset the experiment. No option to close the doors. Same thing with the goo canister. I just assumed that was how they worked. Never thought something was wrong just a personal peeve (if you will) since it's aesthetically un-pleasing. I have family in town so I won't be playing again until next week but I will get you a screen shot then if you would like. -

I hate you so much right now!! I was able to land one guy on the moon but destroyed his engine upon landing. Later I accidentally killed him while attempting a rescue. Since then I never seem to have enough fuel lol.

Hello all, I have been researching how to create your own planets. I have found a couple of options (Kopernicus and Krags for example) but from what I understand none of those work anymore. I have version 1.0.0.822. Does anyone know what program is still good? I am not finding anything recent. I will leave this as it is for now. I'm sure when this gets answered it will spawn a couple more questions.

You guys have me rolling lol. So I got another screw up for you. It was my first attempt to land on the moon. I came in with a tad to much vertical velocity. Destroyed my engine and sent my lander tumbling. My astronaut survived and so did all of my science packages. I immediately begin a rescue attempt. Built a new rocket and send it off. Get it into orbit around the moon. My first step is to lower the landing legs before I start my deorbit burn. Just as I am about to start my burn I realize my engine bell sticks out below my legs. I'm about to have two astronauts stranded on the moon! This one is amazing!! I wish I could see your face when the ladder went up in the air ha ha ha!!

I'm so stupid! First off, always double check your contracts. I was fulfilling a contract and I have always had trouble nailing orbits. I finally get my equatorial orbit almost perfect to the contract specifics. I wait for a minute and the contract doesn't get completed. I'm wondering why. I review the contract only to discover I forgot to put on antenna! So I deorbit this satellite and fix my mistake and build a new rocket. Re-launch it. Absolutely nail the orbit (better than the previous attempt actually) again, contract isn't closing. I then discover I'm going the wrong way!! I fired my NASA director.

Ok, I apologize. I assumed that since I was using Space Engine for KSP it would be ok. Thank you again you guys.

Hello all. I am assuming I am posting this in the right spot. If not please let me know the proper place to put it. Anyway, I am trying to create my own planet using Space Engine. If anyone is familiar with the program I could really use your help. I am using version 980 and when I export a planet (for the color map, normal map, and height map) I can not find where my exports go. After I export my export folder is empty. From what I understand you can't export planets that actually exist (Earth, Saturn, etc) but you can export procedural planets (I am assuming those are planets the game creates) but even those are not exporting for me. Am I doing something wrong?

I have searched and searched and cannot find the uniforms in my KSP directory. I am trying to create a bunch of uniforms for my game but cannot find them anywhere. Even in my texture replacer folder. I just need to find one, copy it, and edit them. If that question has been asked I apologize. I searched for the answer everywhere. -

I am brand new to this game and I am trying to figure out a couple of things. Most important to me is changing the land masses on Kerbin. I like everything about the planet as is but I was wondering if I can just put a gray scale map somewhere and it will show up on the planet if that makes any sense. I downloaded kopernicus but I don't think it is what I am looking for. I don't want to create an entire planet from scratch, just modify Kerbin. What mod do I need to move KSC where I want it? Can I create landing strips where I want them? I once saw a youtube video (only saw it once so I don't remember what it was) where a mod or something was used to portray cities on the ground. I like that and was wondering if there was a way for me to put my own cities on Kerbin in my own locations. I also saw something called night lights or something that portray city lights at night. It was beautiful and I was hoping there is a way to put city lights where I wanted them as well. The reason for these questions is I have built my own universe on Simcity 4 and would love to use my gray scale map for KSP. I want to take pics of my cities and overlay them on the land and place night lights over those cities. I also have CKAN which I have figured out how to use. Now I am not sure how to search for what I want. For example I was hoping someone had created the Mercury rockets (I swear I have seen them on youtube) but when I search for Mercury I find nothing. So if you have any advice I am willing to listen. Just be easy on KSP jargon because I will have no idea what you are talking about. I hope to create a youtube series when I get everything up and running. I also incorporated OOTP Baseball into the same universe so if I ever get caught up I think it will be very interesting.

Hi, my wife bought me this game for my birthday on Sunday and I am looking at mods and it is rather overwhelming. I didn't realize how complicated this would be. I am used to simtropolis lol. Anyway, this is my first attempt at downloading anything for the game and I am looking for the Comprehensive Kerbal Archive Network to help me manage mods. I ended up here and when I click on "Download latest release" it takes me to a page with all kinds of downloads and I am not sure what to look for. Am I mis-understanding what I am looking for? Please be gentle I am literally brand new to this game.
