The Ultimate Jool 5 Challenge - 1.0 to 1.3
origamiscienceguy replied to sdj64's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
I can't believe myself, but I'm gonna try this out. I am not testing anything because that's the Kerbal way Instead, I just look at delta-v charts and overengineer everything. Here goes nothing. -
The Ultimate Jool 5 Challenge - 1.0 to 1.3
origamiscienceguy replied to sdj64's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Just a querry, about how much delta-v would a mothership need to traverse from kerbin to jool, through all of the moons, then back to kerbin? EDIT: Is 6500 dv enough? -

Also, it seems his rules are that you cannot dock/undock at all. It has to be one ship that lands everywhere. -
The Kerbol-16 Challenge

That's my point. I think eve needs to be the last stop so IRSU won't be necessary. -
The Kerbol-16 Challenge
origamiscienceguy replied to Souper's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Given that Jool cannot be landed on, This is the only concievable way I can think of doing this. (not that I'm gonna) Make a rocket that doesn't stage on every planet except eve. Use IRSU on planets several times, and visit eve last. Once landed on eve, get rid of all IRSU equiptment and take off, use whatever staging necessary to get into orbit, then use gravity assist trickery to get a high apoapse and use that to crash into the sun. -
Someone Sabotaged Several Space Ships A game of Mafia/Werewolf It happened gradually. Nobody noticed a pattern until more than a dozen launches had gone up... then down. Mission Control originally thought that the issues were related to faulty probe cores they had used, but it became clear after Jebediah was lost to the heavens that something else was making the rockets fail... someone else. Some more investigating made it clear that none other than Gene Kerman along with one accomplice was responsible for the sabotage. Unfortunately, nobody could find him. He disguised himself to look like any generic Kerbal. So a KSC meeting was organised to determine who Gene Kerman was. Evey notable Kerbal, including Bill, Bob, and Valentina, showed up disguised as generic Kerbals. Gene Kerman is at the meeting too it is up to you to find who he is. This is a game of Forum Mafia. It is very similar to the face-to-face mafia, but with a few differences. I will go over the rules. There will be 9 players, each will be assigned a role. Two of you will be part of the mafia team, and the rest of you will be the Townies. The mafia team will get a private chat while the Townies will not know who anyone is.The game starts with the "Day Phase" where everybody asks everyone else questions to deduce who they think the mafia are. (The mafia will already know who they are, so they try to act like townies.) Once someone thinks they know who it is, they can place a vote in Bolded red. The Mafia may also place votes. Once the day phase is over, the player with the highest number of votes will be eliminated from the game. In the case of a tie, nobody will be eliminated. I will reveal the player's role upon elimination. Then, the game enters the "Night phase" where any players may use their special abilities and the mafia team will have a chance to eliminate one more player. There will be no posting during the night phase, but the mafia team may still talk in their private chat. Once the night is over, I will reveal who (if any) were eliminated and his or her role. The game then enters "Day Phase" again where the players will use the new information to make more educated guesses. The game will continue like this until either team meets their victory conditions. Here are the roles of this game and their abilities: Townies: Generic Kerbal: a Kerbal on the side of the Townies trying to get rid of Gene Kerman. Your most powerful weapon is your vote. Use it wisely. Valentina Kerman: Being the only other BadS Kerman, you have a strange connection with Jebediah. Each night, you may ask him the name of one other player, and he will tell you if he is a saboteur. Bob Kerman: Your knowledge in Science allows you to save someones life if they should so happen to be injured. Each night, you may select one player to save from a mafia attack. However, doing so will also prevent their night action, should they have one, from succeeding. Mafia: Gene Keman: Bacause of you high position in the KSC, each night, you may inspect one Player to determine their Night ability, (if they have one) Genes mysterious accomplice: You were scared into following Gene Kerman's command. Your only individual power is your vote. In addition, the mafia team may select one person to attack during the night. If you want to join this game, say "IN" in your reply. The first 9 players will play, while any afterwards may join the replacement list if any players cannot continue. Player List: (0/9) [Available] [Available] [Available] [Available] [Available] [Available] [Available] [Available] [Available] Replacement list:(0/infinity) [Available] [Available] Additional Rules: 1. To place a vote, put the player's name in Bolded red. If you wish to remove the vote, typeUnvote. To change a vote, first Unvote, then Vote for the new player. 2. You may also choose to not vote for anybody if you think that is strategically viable. However, explicitly state that you are not participating in the vote so others will not confuse you as a timid player. 3. When you are eliminated, you may not post in this thread until the game is completely over. You will get a private "Dead Chat" to commute with all the other eliminated players and learn the truth. If you so desire. 4. You may not Private Message any other players. You may Send me Private messages if you have any questions. However, I will not reveal any part of the game. You also may not quote anything I send you in private messages. 5. No Editing Posts Anything you write must stay that way. 6. If you are unable to play because of time constrains, request a replacement. Hopefully one will be found. 7. The "Day Phase" will last 72 real life hours, and the "Night Phase" will last 24 hours. Weekends will not count as time for either phase. 8. Play to win and be active. Win conditions: The Town will win when all members of the mafia are eliminated. The Mafia will win when there is no way for the Town to win. If you have any other questions, let me know. Here is an animation someone else made. It has slightly different rules than this game, but gives a general idea of how the game is played. http://cataldo.freeshell.org/mafia/mafiascum04.swf
