I installed the latest version through CKAN and manually downloaded only this one file https://github.com/DRVeyl/RealAntennas/blob/master/GameData/RealAntennas/RealAntennas.cfg from GitHub, and replaced the installed one.

So far it seems to work.

I did as you said. The communotron dts-m1 now does have the RealAntenas options. But lot of others dont. I'm guessing this is as intended after all

  2. Howdy

I've recently installed RealAntennas mod, and i noticed that some stock antennas don't have the options provided by the mod, like the communotron dts-m1. While others, like the communotron 16 do have the options to configure transmit power, gain etc.

I have no modded or custom antennas parts nor mods. This apparent issue is with stock antennas.

I do have plently of other mods though, and the one I can see having interference is Kerbalism but it seems they are compatible.

    Is this as intended?

    Quick question here

I have plenty of mods installed, and among them, Kerbalism. Which itself makes science harder.

I wanted to increase the science rate gain in my career game. I've had the bar at 160% when i started the campaign. But its too little to my enjoyment. It started to become a massive grind thus far.

Any way to edit the career file? Can you guys point out how to do so?

    Thanks!

  4. Howdy,

    Quick question over here

I have a bunch of mods that change the gameplay considerably. One of them (I think Kerbalism) probably did something about the science being transfered through antenas. Now whenever I have a set of science instruments and an antenna, the sound of science being transfered via comm net plays non stop. Its really annoying, specially now that i'm seting up a space station.

I haven't got the patience to actually seek out the root cause of this.
The simple solution would be to delete the file responsible for the sound altogether.

Is it possible? Would it cause crashes or even krakens? Where the file is located and whats the name of it?

    Thanks!

This is gonna be the last word on the subject, because we have gone off topic. If they sat down and expressed there opinions, then dropping  it forever; I think that would be a lot better than the bantering back and forth.

    True dat

By the way, i voted "You agree with this"

If you want to spend a lot of time (and she is willing to participate) you could derivate all the necessary physics. Stuff like the rocket equation isnt to complicated if you have basic knowledge of math, supporting it all with experiments will be more complicated, especialy when you include error calculation...

I'm not good at math at all, not to say physics. But when the time comes, i'll see if i can compile the proof and show it to her. :)

Or an optiistic view: even after fifty years together they still will have what to discuss.

    That's the spirit, bro!

It gets on meh nerves when i hear she saying the moon landings were too hollywoodian. But hey, it was the first time men ever stepped on a piece of dirt that wasn't our own - it was suppost to be glorious!

But hey, she's a mate, my darling mate, what can you do?

And if you are very picky, an ever so slight Tweakscale adjustment merely to the hexacore lets you hide the wedges neatly inside a service compartment. However two of the four (brainfart edit) six wedges are left hidden behind the compartment wall, so those spots are not ideal for the animated parts. I have four Orbital Science wedges with a couple of Universal Storage supply bags crammed in the return stage here:

Which part is that with the green cupola?

Plate camera on the 24" (0.6m) Boller and Chivens Cassegrain reflector at the Capilla Peak Observatory. It was before we installed the CCD. It had been used for years with a photometer, and we stuck the old plate camera on and messed around with it. The plates had been in the fridge for a LONG time, and many were moldy (notice blob lower right). I took the image (hand-guiding the scope), an developed the plate as well in the darkroom (chemicals were also pretty ancient).

No way!! That is totally awesome, man!

Tell me, how much that equipment cost you? That photo just made my day!

  10. Simple as that.

When i was a youngling during my high school days, i disliked math and she disliked me back, like every kid does here where i'm from. After i enrolled in a law college, math kind grew on me. Well, at least the abstract approach to it (ie wikipedia articles like this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tarski's_undefinability_theorem), in which i like reading it, but barely grasp 2,5% of what it actually means). So to say the least, this relationship issue remained somewhat unaltered, but with a plot twist. I now loved math, but she totally did not love me back, still.

Then i met Jebediah, Bill, Bob and Valentina, and it changed my life.

Now that i'm older, wiser and more patient. I think its time to put the multiplication table out of the cabinet and teach myself orbital mechanics.

Therein lies the will to change

How to do it? Any tips from the smart people around here on this issue? Any good books on how to get things done?  Any online free courses that you know of? I want to be able to actually understand the problems, being able to solve it the hard and easy ways.

But it doesn't hurts to ask, are there any life hacks or cheats available?

To further enlight the spectrum of my math skills, they are that of a 12 years old (6 years old by japanese standards). The goal is to have somewhat a a grasp of college level calculus, at least into the introduction of it. By then i'll be realized as a human being already, and maybe i'll finally figure out how to to dock directly after ascent.

    Thanks!!!

That reminds me, what's the current status of the USI-LS patches, do they have any issues? I have a basic MOLE station on orbit (love it!) and a while back I was planning to expand the station with the Botany Lab among other stuff. In the VAB the operations manager shows the Greenhouse config buttons for both Snacks and Supplies (or is NOMS) but didn't actually let me select the latter. Or at least the description on the right says "Greenhouse (Snacks)" after clicking either button. Wet workshop and MOBL were selectable without problems. I don't have Snacks installed, should it show up at all in that case? As I recall I did a quick launch&revert though and it had the correct resources on the launchpad, so it seemed to be a UI thing only, but I need to revisit the project and recheck that one. Just wondering if anyone's had a similar glitch?

Yep, i was about post that. I just checked, it has Greenhouse (food), but regardless of whether i click it, the configuration won't change to greenhouse(food). It just stays on the snacks. Although i didn't think actually going to the launchpad to see if its just an UI thing, that just did not come to mind.

Sorry for bothering you again, @Angel-125!

  12. I have a few questions myself. The ammount of dV akin to reaching the low kerbin orbit is 3400m/s but when you get there, the actual speed of the craft is different, why is that? Is it because the dV difference is actually spent on atrition due to the atmosphere? If so, is this an example of momentum conservation?
This is probably too dumb, but hey, i did law school - not physics.

    Thanks!!

  13. Howdy

I have a question: I just put a ScanSat in orbit to map kerbin. Then i was fooling around the script mode(beta), and i saw that you can programe manouvers ahead using that tool. The satelite is exactly at the equator 72km orbit. I thought of increasing its inclination every five orbits or so, eventually covering kerbin entirely after a due set of time.

Now to the actual question, will it work when i'm not using the satellite? or i have to be using the craft the whole time in order to function it?

The Mark One Botany Lab has several configurations. One of them is the Botany Lab itself, which does indeed have Mulch, Fertilizer, and Dirt:

    3g4tOKZ.png

This configuration is used for a science experiment. The Greenhouse configuration is used to actually grow food. Here is an example that uses Snacks:

If you configure the MOBL as a Botany Lab (the default configuration), then what you're seeing is by design.

I'll consider it, thanks for the suggestion. :)

    Thanks for replying.
If i understand correctly the greenhouse configuration is the one i'm seeking, for its purpose is to grow food. My doubt is, given the fact that i don't have snacks installed, will it then yield into TAC-LS?

    Thanks again!
