  1. Just wanna say good job on this update! The EVA is extremely well done and functions beautifully. Got out to 1.5 km from my ship and was able to find my way back. Haven\'t tried to get out on the moon yet, but I\'m sure it\'s just as well done. Way to go guys!
  2. Hey KSP is moving up. It is now the top search result if you type KSP into google. Used to be Kentucky State Police and some chemical company.
  3. Not gonna lie, was just kind of hoping they wouldn\'t notice. >.> Tried to give them credit so they might not make em take it down. Honestly wasn\'t that worried about it, just posted it on YouTube for the heck of it. Wanted it mainly for our open house.
  4. I just emailed one of my professors from my IPT class about using it to teach some high school kids. They go to a lot of high schools as part of the program and I suggested they can use Kerbal to demonstrate some principles of rocketry. I think they were already planning on using my video, but giving the kids some hands on time with the game could be really beneficial I think. So hopefully they will get to show the kids KSP and that will spark interest among them as well.
  5. I was talking with one of my old professors and showed him the game. So he said he would use KSP in the Intro to Aerospace Engineering to teach orbital mechanics and spacecraft design cause he thought it was really awesome. Might even have them do a project in it, so think that is pretty cool. And hey, if you wanna put up another video I\'ve had positive reaction to the one I did for my senior design class. http://youtu.be/epBHkA63mms?hd=1
  6. Welcome to StreetWise Rocketry!Designed for precision, accuracy and efficiency, these rockets provide the best bang for your buck! Each rocket is put together with care by the finest Kerbin workforce using the best equipment found in Jeb\'s junkpile. Delivered pretty much on time and 'intact'. Here at StreetWise we take pride in our designs, so we carry a $1 trillion guarantee. Give us a trillion dollars and we'll build you whatever rocket you want. Note: Individual results may vary.
  7. Thanks man! Would like to get at least a yes or a no from someone, then I\'ll drop it.
  8. Saw that Nassault630 got his video posted to the front page, any chance my video could have a turn up there sometime. Would like to plug UAH some, along with the IPT program. It does a lot of stuff with high schools and would like to spread the word so that it could expand and get more attention. Know mine isn\'t as good as his, but would still be nice. ;P
  9. When I go for my master\'s, if I have to teach propulsion or some class with orbital mechanics, I\'m gonna use this game to show em how they work. I never really understood how Hohmann Transfers worked till I played this. Cool to see all the things you learn in class being applied. I\'m hoping in the real game they\'ll have Isp values for engines, so you can do a proper sizing of your rockets before you fly. Possible project maybe.
  10. Hey Nova, was wondering if you were planning on implementing Alchemist\'s PowerSat plug-in with your probe kit. Would be really nice to have an observer that I could actually keep pointed at the surface. I know you\'re busy working on your own stuff, but was just curious if I should keep holding off doing some of my planned missions.
  11. Oh, also wanted to give credit to Nassault630 for giving me the idea with his awesome video! http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=9236.0
  12. Think this game is what you make of it. If you wanna focus on flying, go for it. If you wanna focus on managing your flight and designing and more precise craft, you can do that to. Plug-ins just let you change the game to be what you want it to be. Personally, getting to orbit was really thrilling at the start. With stock parts and not knowing what you\'re doing, it was a real challenge and you had a lot of excitement just getting up there. But now, when I\'m regularly running Munar orbit and landing mission, getting to orbit is just the tedious part before I get to the interesting stuff. So why not let Mechjeb get me to orbit if I don\'t wanna fly it? I know I can if I wanted to, I don\'t need to prove it to myself. Mechjeb also adds precision. Instead of getting stuff to orbit within 10% of what I wanted, I can get it to within 1% now, just from the data that it gives me. I could go on, but at the end of the day this game will be different for everyone. To me more realistic is actually more computer controlled systems, because that\'s more realistic to real life. The shuttle could basically fly itself, every unmanned mission is controlled by a computer that humans monitor and make inputs to. So most of my flights are computer controlled. The beauty is in the design and execution. To me at least. Yea some parts of over-powered, but you can always just steer away from them. Some would argue the stock parts are unbalanced.
  13. That\'s why I also have a job app in for a new proposal on a new launch platform, but I think everyone is waiting on contracts or the election. But I\'m going through Boeing, so even if they do cancel the SLS I can always go work on the missile shield. Not a big fan of Space X. Good thing about Huntsville is basically anything rocket or missile based goes through here, so I got plenty of options, once people start get into the hiring mood again. Our design is basically just a conceptual proposal, so aside from some CAD drawings and tables of data there isn\'t much more to it lol.
  14. This. If you stay on that indicator it\'ll kill your horizontal velocity component along with your vertical velocity component. It\'s the easiest way I\'ve found.
  15. I do as a matter of fact. Hoping to get to work on the SLS rocket, but pickings are slim at the moment. Graduate in a week and have no job lined up. If he wanted me I\'d be proud to help out if I could. I like doing stuff like this. Gonna have plenty of free time this summer if things keep up the way they are lol.
  16. Damn you trolls lol. It\'s funny when I show it to people who have played the game cause they always say 'Is that the Mun?'. Good thing the judges and NASA people won\'t know better.
  17. Look man I\'ve only got one satellite planet to work with here lol. Just enjoy it, it\'s an artistic interpretation.
  18. So for my senior design class we designed a lander that traveled to Mercury to do some science experiments and such. Since NASA likes to do fancy CG videos of their missions, I decided to do one, in Kerbal of course! Took a weekend and about 40 hours to get it into it\'s final form. It\'s kinda long, but represents the mission from launch to landing. Thought it was pretty cool and you guys might like it. Full screen and 1080 ftw! http://youtu.be/epBHkA63mms Had this running on a big screen off my laptop and had a demo of the game running (yay for my lil laptop ;P), and had people trying to land the lander from the cruise stage at the open house. Not many succeeded lol. But they all asked what it was so I got the word about Kerbal out a little more. Tons of high school teams were there to, so they might go and download it. Special thanks to the following people. JordanCox2 for his awesome Atlas V model Tiberion and sarkun for their cool landing legs NovaSilisko for the braking engine and the probe kit I used to make the lander And of course the developers that have made such an awesome game!
  19. Hey just wanted to let you know I love your Atlas V model!! I\'m using it in a video for my senior design project, and I\'m giving you credit. Gonna post it here soon. Thank you so much!!!
